I'll be setting up my 5 ft. green pole with dark blue pennant towards the top (the back) of the amphitheater, off to the side on the grass.
Look for that and for me. I look like my photo. I'll be wearing my multi-color jungle leaves design cap. After the music starts look for many of
in the dance area, in front of the performance area.In case of pending inclement weather the day of the event,

The Undergroove band at Lake Harriet Bandshell - Fri, August 28th
Lake Harriet, East Lake Harriet Parkway, Minneapolis, MN, USFREE.
Music starts at 7:30 PM.
I'll be there by 6:30 PM. Come early, before the music begins,
for introductions and conversation. The Undergroove band was formed after a great bass player from the funk era, the 70s, decided that it was overdue to resurrect the music that put the U.S. on the map as a dance capital of popular music.
Self-descriptors: funk, soul, rock-n-roll; country, rhythm & blues, jam band, influenced by Sly Stone, Doobie Brothers, Janis, Jimi, and CCR.
The band has two Facebook pages:
https://www.facebook.com/TreAaronMN (seems to be the most up-to-date) and https://www.facebook.com/theundergrooveband .
I've heard them in person once before and I liked them. Big Mike Mothershed sang with them during that performance but that isn't a sure thing, as I understand it.I'll be dancing to many of their songs. Feel free to join in or not, with or without a partner. It's typically a fun group-dance happening at Lake Harriet.
Parking:
Pay parking in nearby lots. I can usually find a free spot on the street on the neighborhood just to the west of the bandshell area on Queen Ave S.Bring a lawn chair or blanket, water, cash and credit card (both is best) for parking, or food.
You might want to bring an umbrella in case a passing rain shower pops up.
Mosquito repellant may or may not be needed, but probably not (your guess is as good as mine).
I use ear plugs when dancing near the band (your call, of course).Food and Refreshment:
Bread and Pickle is very close by, for meals, treats, beverages, wine and beer: https://www.breadandpickle.com/ , and there may possibly be a food truck or two there, also.Weather:
In case of rain: monitor the Minneapolis Parks Music in the Parks Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mplsmusicmovies/ .
If/when I find out about any cancellation or go-ahead the day of this event I'll post a comment on this page with information as soon as I am able. How to find us:
As you face the stage from the audience look to your right, and behind you, in a shaded area, by or on the small hill. I look like my photo. I'll be wearing my orange-green-red-yellow "jungle leaves" design cap. Look for a 5-ft. green pole with a dark blue pennant on it. It'll be near us.28 attendees
