About us
Welcome! This is a new group for 45+ people who want to enjoy great events and meet old and new friends in a relaxed, no-drama environment. It's run by experienced Meetup organizers. Check us out! No group fee due for the first three months and only $10 CAD/year after that.
Our organizers bring their knowledge and enthusiasm from hosting popular, successful events in various other meetup groups, including the usual fun things (dinners, coffees, movies, walks, games, book discussions) as well as the less typical, like dancing to live music, cooking lessons, scooter tours, midnight kayaking under the full moon, Whitecap watch parties, and happy hours at high-end venues.
A note on the group's annual fee: We very much appreciate if you choose to pay the annual fee promptly upon joining, but also completely understand that you might want to take some time to check out a few of our events first. You have three months to pay from the date you’re approved to join. Payment options are via e-mail transfer or cash (in person). You’ll receive info about where to send the e-transfer when you’re approved to join.

Black Dog: Led Zeppelin tribute band in Port Moody - $63.00
Inlet Theatre and Galleria, 100 Newport Drive, Port Moody, BC, CAThis is a chance to see Montreal's celebrated Led Zeppelin tribute band, Black Dog, which is coming to the West Coast for the first time.
https://www.blackdogtribute.ca/
Buy your general admission tickets here - they cost $63: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/black-dog-the-spirit-of-led-zeppelin-tickets-1967749281070
Let's meet in front of the theatre for 6pm so we get great seats, although the actual start time of the concert is 7 pm.
“Black Dog—The Spirit of Led Zeppelin” captures Led Zep's early years in a show that brings to life the essence of Led Zeppelin. From the first crushing riff of Whole Lotta Love to the final echos of Kashmir and Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog delivers an authentic experience with the chemistry and respect the music deserves: raw, electric, and alive."

Rocket Revellers at Guilt and Co - midweek | $12 Cover
Guilt & Company, 1 Alexander Street, Vancouver, BC, CAThe Rocket Revellers are a favourite with our group and for good reason - they always put on a high-energy show, have a great stage presence and are very danceable. This time they're playing mid-week at atmospheric, slightly swanky Guilt and Co (see link for menu), which is one of Vancouver's most active live music venues (offering two live shows a night, every night of the week). Midweek is not the best time to stay up late dancing, I realize, but this venue is very close to me so I'll be going for sure and hope some can join me.
Note: G&C does not take reservations. They also have a policy of only seating groups when the whole group is present. We'll aim to be seated at 8:30, but I've set the meeting time a bit earlier for that reason. We'll go in with whoever's there at 8:30. Latecomers may be able to squeeze in with us later or find a seat at the bar, but how well that works will depend on how full the venue is. This is a Wednesday night, but also a known, popular local band with their own following, so hard to say what the crowd size will be. Show starts at 9 pm.
Cover is $12 at the door. Cards accepted.
