What we’re about
We are a friendly and successful outdoor group. Our group is long established with the majority of our members living within the Ealing, Ruislip & Harrow & nearby areas.
We offer a wide variety of outdoor activities led by experienced walk leaders. Our core programme offers a weekly hike, about 20 weekends away each year, training in map reading & leadership skills. Evening walks and social events. We also arrange camping trips, regular cycle rides (off road & on road) and organise hill walking, horse riding hacks, sailing adventures, caving & canoeing excursions as part of our weekends away. Our YHA group name is Harrow Outdoor Group.
We benefit from our own hall where we arrange regular social events, BBQs, new members social evenings, training events and an annual awards ceremony where everyone can join up to celebrate the year, Anyone can attend our hall event if they want to meet us before joining us on a walk or weekend away. We offer a lively social programme with drinks socials at local pubs & regular new members meal events.
As we are affiliated to the YHA (since 1931) we benefit from YHA discounts at all hostels. We are a non profit making voluntary group. Thus we can offer very competitively priced trips away. We have long experience of camping trips; all our sites allow camp fires and bbqs.

See all- Ruislip TrailCafe Rouge, London£10.00
This 6-mile linear walk covers three Wetherspoons. We gather at Wetherspoons next to Ruislip Manor Station for chilled breakfast (optional). Then gentle stroll through footpaths via Bessingby playing fields and Cavendish Rec. Then after Roxbourne Park, we arrive (around noon) at the 2nd stop, Rayners Lane Wetherspoon. Time for a well-earned lunch break. Option to join here if missed the start. After lunch the route takes in the cricket ground, the Ecology Park and Roxeth Recreation Park. We then arrive at the final Wetherspoons, The Greenwood Hotel, for drinks after the walk. This pub has many photographs of the famous airfield and racecourse.

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea at Wetherspoons. Option to bring packed lunch for outdoor areas.
Travel
Ruislip Manor Station opposite start. Nearest stations to end point, Northolt and Sudbury Hill. Lots of local buses stop at both points. Free parking at start and finish.

- Best Chiltern Villages Walkcadmore end car park, cadmore end£10.00
This 9-mile circular walk takes in the four of the finest Chiltern villages, Turville, Fingest, Skirmett and Turville Heath. The walk is through a mix of woods and open meadows, with some good hills for great views. Fram Cadmore we reach Fingest with its unique St Bartholomew's church and pub. We then cross fields to visit Turville, featured in many films and series such as Vicar of Dibley and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Great views from the windmill on the summit. We reach Turville Heath and The Barn for lunch. Option to have packed lunch at benches outside or enjoy the great variety of The Barn menu. The former farm has transformed salvaged Land Rovers, Morris Travellers and John Deeres into part of the café setting. Our walk continues to Adams Wood and follows the Chiltern Way back to Cadmore. Route has hills.
