What we’re about
We will have a lot of hikes in Middle Tennessee. However we will also do a lot of hiking in the Cumberland Plateau and Cumberland Mountains which are between Nashville and Knoxville and between Nashville and Chattanooga. Most of these hikes will be long day trips but are very awarding hikes.
We will also offer longer hikes that involve overnights. These hikes are from anywhere from the Smoky Mountains to the Rocky Mountains or anywhere there are good hikes that the group would like to hike.
In addition to hiking we will be open to all kinds of outdoor activities from kayaking, biking, horseback riding, sitting around a fire, camping, caving, having a picnic, listening to live music outside, rock climbing or pretty much anything that is outdoors.
We may also have some social activities as well such as dinners or other activities that will help us all get to know each other.
We are always looking for people who are will to host meetups and I am always willing to help you organize your first few meetup events so let me know if you would like to be an Event Organizer

We’re back for Hike #2 in our Couch to 8 Miles by Fall series—and if you're ready to keep moving toward that fall goal (or restart after a slow week), you're in the right place!
At our first hike, we set some small but mighty goals—like walking daily or aiming for a certain number of miles a week. Whether you’ve stuck to your plan or are just now setting one, this is your encouragement to keep going.
Bring: water, sunscreen, comfy shoes, snack if needed.
This week’s hike includes:
🥾 A flat, scenic 2.7-mile trail that’s beginner-friendly and peaceful
📈 A relaxed goal check-in where we can share progress, swap ideas, or just nod in mutual understanding
☕ A brunch or coffee stop after the hike for connection and motivation (and caffeine, obviously)Not sure what goal to set? Try one of these:
✅ Walk 15 minutes a day this week
✅ Get in 2 weekday walks plus our Saturday hike
✅ Build toward 6 total miles this week (You'll get in 2.7 miles Saturday.)
✅ Or just keep saying “yes” to movement—it all adds up!We’re also using the free Strava app to stay connected and track our weekly progress. If you'd like to join in, after downloading the app, search for Bev Chattin to get started and let’s cheer each other on between hikes!
Let’s keep working toward 8 miles by fall—one encouraging step, one encouraging coffee date, and one goal at a time.
