About us
Looking to get together with fellow casual board game fans in the Northwest side of the city and share in some board game fun from time to time. I have a pretty wide range of game types that I enjoy and I really like teaching/walking others on how to play games that I own as well as learning new ones. All skill levels/experience with board games are welcome.
I can envision rotating locations within these 8-ish neighborhoods: Edison Park, Norwood Park, Dunning Square, Montclare, Belmont Cragin, Portage Park, Jefferson Park, Forest Glen and have some locations (that offer light food/drink) already in mind. I’d envision that this group would all share in bringing games, but at a minimum, I’d commit to bringing some crowd-favorites from my modest, but growing, library:

Northwest Side Chicago Board Gaming
Stay and Play Game Cafe, 3932 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL, USIt has been neat building out such a great and friendly community of fellow board game fans here on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Yesenia and I (Jose) are so tickled to be now able to host regularly scheduled game night events here at our very own venue: Stay and Play Game Cafe.
We have a great menu and full drink service for those of you looking to purchase some grub or drinks. See here: https://stayandplaygamecafe.com/menu
Our library is stocked with over 700+ games to play. Check the library out here: https://stayandplaygamecafe.com/game-library
However, the owners are absolutely fine with you bringing your own titles and letting them know what additional titles they should look to add.
Finally, all skill levels are welcome. This is a really friendly group; always willing to teach games they are familiar with and a healthy appetite for learning new ones.
Looking forward to seeing you there. We know that plans change, so please kindly update your RSVP if you can't make it.
Thanks!

Battle Solitaire Tournament
Stay and Play Game Cafe, 3932 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL, USBattle Solitaire??? What you talking about, Jose???
Yup, its a thing AND its a lot of fun! If you've played solitaire before, then you are halfway there. Its a speed version of solitaire and you are racing others at the table to clear your personal stack of 10 cards (called blitz or lunch pile) before they do.
The original version is called Dutch Blitz and you can see the rules here:

or more details of the game here:
