AI Agents: Hype or Next Big Shift?

AI Agents have become one of the most talked-about developments in technology. Beyond the headlines, workflow guides, and rapidly growing list of new tools, a bigger question remains: Are AI agents simply the latest wave of hype, or are they about to fundamentally change how we build software, automate work, and interact with technology?

Join the Pinellas Tech Network on Thursday, November 19, from 6-8 PM, at St. Petersburg College (Tarpon Springs Campus), for AI Agents: Hype or the Next Big Shift? This will be an evening of conversation, connection, and exploration focused on this rapidly evolving area of artificial intelligence.

We’ll take a closer look at what AI agents actually are, how they differ from the generative AI tools many organizations are already using, and where businesses have already put agentic AI to work. The discussion will explore opportunities around autonomous workflows, software development, business process automation, customer experience, data analysis, and more. This session will also examine the technical challenges, security considerations, governance questions, and limitations that organizations need to understand.

Whether you’re a developer already building agentic systems, a tech leader evaluating where to invest time and resources next, or simply curious about where artificial intelligence is headed next, this Meetup is for you.
