Reno Outdoor Fitness Meetup Group let's go hiking

The Truckee River Legacy Trail is a scenic commuter path that follows the Truckee River through town. This is a section of the paved path, starting from the Truckee Bike Park. The route (which is 5.1 miles) heads north, taking a singletrack trail east, adjacent to the river, for three and a half miles. It loops back on the Legacy Trail.

For those of you who might be interested in car pooling up to the trailhead, we'll meet at the IHOP and Instant Smog on North McCarran Blvd (take Sierra Highlands Dr). WE’LL LEAVE FROM THE IHOP AT 9:00AM. If you are not interested in carpooling, show up at the IHOP and we can caravan to the trailhead.

Bring water and something for lunch.

Dogs need to be on a leash and picked up after. If the dog can demonstrate that it is under total voice control of the owner, then the leash can be removed at the discretion of the trip Organizer.

By signing up for MeetUp.com, you agree to the Meetup Terms of Service Agreement. Section 6.2 of this agreement releases the organizers and event hosts from any liability related to incidents that occur at MeetUp gatherings.

By signing up, you acknowledge that the FRMB organizers are volunteers and NOT professional guides, nor are they First Aid certified.

Their role is to coordinate the gathering of people at the appointed meeting place for the group to voluntarily take part.

We will depart from the park n ride at 8:20.
We will begin the hike at the trailhead at 9:00.

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 hours to complete. During the summer, this is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

For those of you who might be interested in car pooling up to Five Valley Viewpoint, we'll meet at 8:15 at the Park N Ride on the south side of the Summit Mall ( We’ll depart from the park n ride at 8:20).
