The San Diego Triathlon Series has Free Training clinics for all levels of Triathletes. We want to help you do your very best!

The San Diego Triathlon Series consists of 6 or more - Triathlon / Duathlon / AquaBike events throughout the year. The Spring Sprint Triathlon in May, The San Diego International Triathlon in June, The Solana Beach Triathlon in July, the CVC San Diego Tri in August, The San Diego Triathlon Classic Rocks the Bay in September, and ending with The Xterra Wetsuits Mission Bay Triathlon in October. All SD Tri Series Events are USAT Sanctioned.

Come learn about Triathlon - Learn new techniques to start or improve your Triathlons. Free Triathlon to get you ready to race!

Triathlon Club of San Diego and KOZ Events are hosting another triathlon transition clinic, a short practice triathlon, and a gear swap meet at Glorietta Bay, Coronado.
Come learn about Triathlon. Transition and how triathlons work We will look at the aspects of triathlon some basic rules, how transitions work and a beginner triathlon. There is also a gear swap meet for those looking to find some used gear at discount prices.
Everyone is invited to participate in the Triathlon Clinic however, only first-timers or those very new to triathlon to Triathlon (3 or less triathlons) will be allowed to participate in the practice triathlon.

Schedule:
Triathlon Clinic:
7 AM: Triathlon Clinic starts, please arrive at least 30 minutes earlier to set up.
The Clinic will be covering: (Transition Clinic is open to all participants)

  • Triathlon Basics 101
  • Rules
  • Setting up your transition area
  • Practicing Transition (swim to bike, bike to run)

8 AM: Triathlon Club of San Diego Beginner Triathlon starts. This is for first-timers and newbies. We will not allow any significantly experienced athlete to participate.
Swim: approx. 188 yards
Bike: 2.8 miles, ride south to Attu Ave on the bike path right and return back on the shoulder of the road for a total of 3.4 miles.
Run: 1 mile out and back. The turn point will be marked with a cone.
We will be limiting the Beginner Triathlon to Beginners, So if you're a veteran of the sport be there to support the new triathletes.
THIS IS NOT A RACE, We don't have a closed course and there are driveways cars cross so we must observe all traffic laws. We want to simulate all the urgency and excitement of a triathlon, but we must be safe. You MUST wear a helmet the entire time you have possession of your bike.

Swap Meet:
9 AM: Triathlon Swap meet. TriClub members will bring new and used Triathlon gear, to sell, donate or exchange. a good opportunity for us all to sell/buy stuff especially great opportunity for beginners to gear up.

After the finish, we will have a Triathlon Swap Meet (Buy, Sell, Swap or Give away), where many of us have accumulated gear we no longer use and we are willing to part with.
Be there early as parking near the venue is limited.
