Adventure Junkie Hiking

Meet at 3rd Street ! We will car pool to park! Hike of some hills and flats! About 5 miles! After hike social hour in Chesapeake city!

Heading to Maine - the Bigelow range , Crocker mountain area and Spaulding mtn area.

This will be an air bnb likely . Probably 500-600 per person.

The plan is to hike and climb all 10 peaks in this area. First 2 days climb 5, middle day rest. Do something else then last 2 days climb the other 5.
Each day is a separate hike by itself.
Total mileage 44 miles- approx total gain 16,000 feet.

Day 1 …9 miles 3800 gain - crocker ,south crocker and reading ton .

Day 2 … 13.5 mile 5000 ft sugarloaf , abraham and spaudling - this day may change as I search for a shorter route.

Day 3 off - can go into town or paddleboard or a bike along the river or zip line or disc golf or just hang out. 

Day4 ….9.7 miles 3350 gain west peak and avery .

Day 5….11.5 miles 3800 gain the Horn ,saddleback

Done .

Do not feel like you have to hike all four days if you don’t want to hike 2,3 or four whatever .

Just think we do have the entire day to do each hike . 

In particular, I think the view on top of Mount Abraham is tremendous .

Do not feel obligated to participate all four days of climbing, although I will be doing them all as long as I am physically able . I would expect that we would go out to dinner several times as a group .maybe grill out once.

This will be a different venue for the Friday night, hike!
We will hike somewhere between six and 7 1/2 miles, depending on which route we end up taking and we will hike through Bentley preserve, through the fields and woods then head on the road about 3/4 of a mile and do the 3 mile loop at Templin Woods .

There are a number of turns involved in Bentley so we will need to stay together.

This property is very beautiful and home to lots of wildlife. Please respect the preserve and stay on the trails. The last time I hike through here I heard and saw more birds than I’ve ever heard on any 1 hike . We will pass by the ruins of the Warwick furnace and we can stop and take a look at the original cannon from the Revolutionary war that was dug up on this property .cool stuff .

In total there is about a mile and a half on the road, which is unavoidable .

The Templin Woods Loop is a little rocky in places and also part of it does cross some short muddy patches, but nothing crazy . 

We will meet at the garage at the top of the hill. 40.15115, -75.74312 these are the GPS coordinates of that garage. It is a gravel entry drive off of warwick furnace road .
 we will have a hard and fast limit on the amount of people who can attend this hike
