They are all inspired by structures in France. Laurie Petersen will show us examples of Gallic influence all over Chicago, ranging from mansard-roofed houses to Art Deco skyscrapers. Take a virtual stroll on "Boul Mich" and beyond to see our city à la française.

Mary Cassatt, une Américaine parmi les peintres impressionnistes
Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, IL, USÀ l’occasion du centenaire de sa disparition, de nombreuses expositions rendent hommage à la peintre impressionniste Mary Cassatt (1844–1926). À Chicago, l’Art Institute présente actuellement une exposition consacrée à son œuvre, tandis qu’une autre exposition lui est dédiée au musée d’Orsay à Paris. Marie-Pierre Rondeau vous propose une synthèse de ces deux expositions et vous invite à redécouvrir une artiste majeure, à la fois peintre exceptionnelle et figure essentielle dans la diffusion de l’impressionnisme aux États-Unis.
Marie-Pierre Rondeau a étudié l’histoire de l’art à l’université de Louvain, Belgique, communication et tourisme à Bruxelles, Belgique, puis l’histoire de l’art française à Paris, France. Elle a travaillé pendant 10 ans dans les musées nationaux ainsi que pour les voyages culturels « Elderhostel » (aujourd’hui, « Road Scholar »).
Depuis 2009, elle s’est intégrée dans le milieu culturel de Chicago, en promouvant des artistes contemporains locaux, tout en continuant de proposer des conférences dans les écoles et centres culturels.
