This group is operated by the Adirondack Mtn. Club - Albany Chapter (4/12/2023).
We are a very active local group dedicated to conservation, advocacy, recreation, education and stewardship of New York's wilderness areas. We sponsor a wide range of outdoor activities ranging from hiking, backpacking, padding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing to educational programs, monthly meetings and social events for people who love the outdoors. See all- Evening Paddle- Waterford LaunchWaterford Boat Launch, Waterford, NY
Be on the water BEFORE 6:00pm. Plan to arrive at least 15-30 minutes ahead of launch time to unload your boat & organize your gear. We begin paddling promptly at 6pm.
In Waterford, turn from Broad St. south onto First St. and drive to the boat launch at its end. Or you can launch from Lansingburgh at the end of 123rd St. off of Second Ave./Rt.4 and meet the rest of the group on the Waterford side.
We will paddle upstream on the Hudson to Campbell Island or explore the shores and waterfalls of Peebles Island.
Sign-up at auntmayor@aol.com by noon on the day of the paddle and give your cell phone number for last minute changes. This is the only way to sign up.
You must wear a securely fastened PFD, and have a white light and whistle (required!). No cotton clothing.

Take Route 7 to 278 or Route 2 out of Troy. From Cropseyville go approx. 5 miles to Dunham Rd, a right hand turn. At 0.6 miles there is a parking area and launch on the left.

- Evening Paddle- Henry Hudson Park, Bethlehem, Hudson RiverHenry Hudson Park - Boat ramp, Bethlehem (Selkirk), NY
Note: there are 2 launch areas at the park. There is an area for hand-carried boats near the Upstate Kayak Rental facility and a ramp for power boats which is where we usually put in. If you are planning to rent, please contact Pam to coordinate joining the group.

Take the Thruway to Exit 22. After the tollbooth, take Rt. 144 north for about 1 mile, then take a right onto Barent Winne Road to the DEC boat launch next to Henry Hudson Park.
We will paddle up or down stream depending on the conditions.
Rentals available through Upstate Kayaks during the Upstate season. Contact them to make arrangements, at least a day before the paddle.
