Fly Fishing on the Mokelumne River
Strange Hip Ranch, Wilseyville. Ca, 2883 N Railroad Flat Rd., Wilseyville, CA, USTHIS IS NOT AN AMADOR FLYFISHER OUTING BUT IS BEEING ADVERTISED FOR THE FOOTHILL CONSERVANCY.
Exclusive Private Access with Foothill Conservancy
Foothill Conservancy invites you to a rare, one‑day fly fishing experience on private property along the South Fork of the Mokelumne River. Participants will enjoy nearly half a mile of exclusive river access, bordered by BLM land, with an additional mile of downstream access available for more experienced anglers. This setting creates expansive fishing opportunities for all skill levels in water that receives minimal fishing pressure
This stretch of river offers easy to moderate walk‑and‑wade conditions, with access to a variety of runs, pools, riffles, and pocket water. Scheduled during the Mayfly hatch, the timing provides excellent potential for dry fly takes. To protect the quality of the experience, participation is strictly limited to 12 anglers, ensuring ample space to spread out and fish comfortably. A group lunch is included and will be enjoyed together on a riverside beach—making this both a memorable outing and a meaningful connection to the watershed Foothill Conservancy works to protect.
