Join us for an evening paddle on the Amazing Salt River, to see old friends, new friends, and ones we have yet to meet. Please come join us to HAVE SOME FUN on the river for a spectacular Sunset & Moonlit night!

THE RIVER IS FLOWING at good LEVELS... the weather is enjoyable....
That all being said,.. This should be a fantastic night on the River...
So lets get together have some fun, visit with old friends, and make new friends on this Amazing Salt River voyage!!

Our Full Moon Hiking events are so popular... I thought how AMAZING it would be to do a SUNSET/ ALL MOST FULL MOON (96.2%) on the water on the beautiful Lower Salt River. SOOO... LETS DO IT!!!

******* THIS WILL BE AMAZING... FUN & RELAXING ***********

Our group did this last year a few times and had a great time with Spectacular Sun Sets and Beautiful Views of the rising Moon as it came up over our shoulders as we floated down to our final destination to Phon D Sutton.!

NOTE: If you have an inflatable PFD, arrive sufficiently earlier to allow time to inflate your craft before we *shuttle up to Water Users from Phon D. Sutton at 4:00*.

We will meet up at Phon D. Sutton Recreation Area at 4:00 PM Be ready to bring our flotation craft up to the Water Users (Starting point). Would like to be on the river by 4:30 PM to enjoy the Amazing Arizona Sunset.... when we head down the river, we'll stop for a short time at Mud Cliffs. Here we will take a break, have your snacks and drinks of your choice, and of course some time chill to watch enjoy the rising Moon in the eastern sky. Then continue our paddle down to our final destination. And don't forget to look for the Wild Horses beautiful Birds along the waters edge !

Things you may need... Drinking Water, PFD / Life Jacket (We require you wear one while on the water), bug spray, bug net, glow sticks, light for your water craft... something to light your way. Sunblock, Hat, Snacks, and any other items that you as an EXPERIENCED kayaker likes to bring kayaking... And very important your sense for an Amazing Arizona Adventure!

*For parking you will need a Tonto Pass (pay stations available) If purchased in advance only $8, or at pay station $12. (NOT SURE IF PRICE HAS INCREASED) It is no cost if you have and Display in your dash ATB card (America The Beautiful) card. I recommend that you get a pass in advance as sometimes the vending machines on site do not work.

FULL MOON HIKE
LETS DO THIS.... Again... And make it great !! Last full Moon the weather was great, it was an Amazing night! So lets get everyone out to enjoy the cool nights of our Amazing Arizona Desert in Beautiful South Mountains.

Full Moon Hike in South Mountain, with an Amazing Sunset first leg of the trail. With a bright full moon to finish the hike.

Last month we had an Amazing group of people!

The weather is beautiful should be an Amazing Arizona evening.. so lets do this Amazing hike with breath taking views.

I think this would be a good time to start doing this hike again, and again, and again. We have been doing this hike for years and we have had a great time. So come on out for a great night hike, meet Amazing people, check out a beautiful Arizona Sunset and watch the glowing Full Moon rise in the East as we move along the Ridgeline Trail. Its a good time to see and howl at the full moon: Should be a great night Adventure . You get to see me at my best....

South Mountain Javelina Trail

7898 S 46th St., Phoenix, AZ

Mileage: 3.8 miles

Elevation Gain: Approximately 410 feet

Trails: Javelina; Ridgeline; & Beverly Canyon (loop Hike)

Trail Rating: 2-3 / Moderate

Directions: Take I-10 to 48th Street & go South to Baseline and turn right (west) or I-10 West to Baseline and get off on Baseline Road. Head West till 46th Street and make a left (south). Drive all the way till the road ends and park in the 2nd parking lot on the left.

SUGGESTIONS: bring plenty of water, a snack if you'd like, layering clothing for change in temperature as the sun goes down it does get a little colder, a camera to capture the beautiful moon (we use the trail markers as tripods). Some hikers like to bring flashlights, and that's fine. However, between the full moon and the city lights, we have never had difficulties seeing the trail, unless it's very cloudy. If you do use a flashlight, please be considerate of the people around you by not blinding them :--)

PLEASE UNDERSTAND.... This hike may not be good for a beginner or a new hiker, it is dark at times and parts of the trail can be a little challenging. We do not go fast but we do keep a good pace, and we do have a few stops to enjoy the city lights and of course the FULL MOON.

This was so much fun last time...so lets do this event again, will be a lot of fun! We will watch the Sunset around 6:20 pm and the Moon will start rising at 6:15 pm. So come enjoy the evening festivities... Will be a lot of fun!!

I will be heading up the Trail at 5:00 pm please join me. I will be going up from the 7th Ave Trail head it is just over 3/4 mile up and just under 450' Elevation Gain. Look for the glowing "9" high in the Sky. If you would like to make it a longer hike you can come up anytime and any trail head to meet us up at "Cloud 9 Ruins." We plan on being up on Cloud 9 for a few hours enjoying each others company (come and go as you wish).

***When heading up remember if you hiked to the top of the mountain you have gone too far, we are on the south side before the summit & off to the East of trail.... the trail loops back up to the ruins***
