What we’re about

Welcome to the Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s Meetup! This Meetup is sponsored by the Narragansett Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (Joining this Meetup Group does not automatically make you an AMC member).

Our trip leaders host local hikes, bike rides, and social events aimed at outdoorsy 20-40ish years old. We offer activities throughout RI and surrounding areas both after work and on the weekends. Joining a YM activity is a great way to make new friends and explore the area's natural beauty.

The purpose of our Meetup is to introduce others to the wonderful outdoor opportunities offered by the AMC Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s. As a Meetup member, you have no obligation to join the AMC.But, if you enjoy participating in our events, we hope you will consider joining the AMC (https://www.outdoors.org/join-today?chapter=NA&campaign=70150000001EMs5AAG).

Please, only RSVP if you plan on attending the event. For the consideration of our leaders, we ask that you contact us if you have RSVP'ed and can no longer attend.

Our events are led by highly qualified, trained AMC volunteers who are always concerned about safety. They take every precaution to assure participant risk is minimized and fun is maximized.

If you would like to learn more about our Chapter, please visit our website at outdoors.org/narragansett (https://www.outdoors.org/narragansett/)!

Description: We’ll meet for what might be the last coffee of the year — who knows — and after a little caffeine, we’ll take a short walk along the bike path to visit the East Providence troll.
Where the hum of the city fades behind you and the river runs alongside, the world slows down. The path stretches ahead, framed by bare trees and glimpses of water, carrying the crisp air of late autumn. Each step becomes a quiet breath—steady, calm, present.
This walk is a small way to say goodbye to the year: the rhythm of footsteps on pavement, the shifting light over the river, the gentle sounds of winter approaching. It’s a chance to reflect on the months behind us, to feel the subtle energy of the season, and to welcome what comes next.
As you walk, let the path guide your attention—the cool breeze on your face, the sparkle of water, the stillness between sounds. This isn’t just a walk. It’s an invitation to pause, to close the year with presence, and to find a little magic along the way.
At the end waits the East Providence troll, standing quietly, a gentle reminder that even in the everyday, wonder can be found as the year comes to a close.

Description: No trail shoes. No bug spray. Just flavor, laughter, and the joy of discovering something new. Because adventure doesn’t always require a backpack. Sometimes, all you need is a fork and the curiosity to discover what’s nearby. Join us for a culinary experience that goes beyond the plate. At S.E.A.L., we celebrate local flavors, the stories shared around the table, and the magic of connecting with genuine people in unexpected places. Each gathering is different. The menu changes, the location shifts, but the spirit stays the same: explore, savor, and live every adventure locally.
This time, we’re trading the forest path for fork and plate, and meeting at a local culinary gem in Rhode Island.
    This month’s location:
Jahunger Providence brings the vibrant flavors of Uyghur and Central Asian cuisine to life with every dish. Their menu combines traditional recipes with bold, modern touches — colorful, aromatic, and full of character. Signature dishes like hand-pulled noodles, savory lamb dumplings, kavap lamb skewers, and stir-fried vegetables showcase fresh ingredients, rich spices, and the authentic warmth of Central Asian culinary traditions. Vegetarian options and unique side dishes ensure there’s something for everyone. To complete the experience, Jahunger offers refreshing specialty drinks and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for casual dinners, nights out with friends, or simply exploring a new world of flavors in the heart of Providence.
