What we’re about

What is Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid?

An Eternal Golden Braid is a Pulitzer Prize winning book by Douglas R. Hofstadter on mathematics, metacognition, and the definition of humanity. Through the music of Bach, artwork of Escher, and the mathematics of Gödel, Hofstadter explores what it means to be human.

What's the point of this group?

What is "mind"?  We digress. We started this group reading GEB and have since sought to read interdisciplinary books relating to its key themes. Browse the list of past meetups to see the list of books we’ve read since GEB.

Who should join?
If you are willing to commit to reading the current book and want a discussion group to get more out of it, this is the meetup for you!

Where can I find the book?
Check your local library, independent bookseller, Bookshop.org or a used book site (Better World Books, Alibris, ThriftBooks, etc).
