- Saturday Advanced Ride - 200km to GroningenNeeds location
What: I'm planning a 200+km advanced ride to Groningen, taking the train back. Simply because I've never been there and haven't seen much of the area in between.
Saturday weather is expected to bring strong winds in the direction Amsterdam - Groningen, which should give us some good tailwind.
Consider that drafting effects are smaller with tailwinds, so lack of fitness cannot be easily fixed by just tagging along in the back.
Average > 30kph, which means there will be sections that we will ride well above 30kph.
At least 2 stops planned to stretch the back and fuel up.
We will end our ride in Groningen Europapark, as there is an interruption in the train service at Groningen Main Station.
Where: meet at Olympisch Stadion or on the way
When: 8.00am. Please reserve the whole day so we're not in a rush.
What to bring: Make sure to bring layers, food, water, spare tube & tools.
Course: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/374648402 or similar - I'm open to suggestions. I planned it so it should take is through some green areas on the map - maybe nice.
