Park calisthenics
Peter T. Gill Park, Milpitas, CA 95035, Milpitas, Ca, USThis time we'll focus on upper body and do more wrist, finger, and shoulder work to prepare for handstand and planche progressions. If you went to the last event, this will be similar but less lower body work, so we'll do mobility work, exercises, (some) plyos, and finish with upper body work. If you have finger/wrist/elbow/shoulder/back pain, come to this event since a lot of the exercises we'll do will help with that.
Everyone is welcome to this so it's fine if you don't have any experience, since I'll give variations of each exercise to make things easier or harder and you can pick which variation you want to do. This will be a gradual and casual session, so if there's any exercise you're not sure about, ask questions, and if you don't feel comfortable doing something, just skip it.
Calisthenics is a fancy way of saying body weight exercises, so we'll do exercises that don't require any special equipment. To keep things simple, the exercises here will avoid not just special equipment but also any equipment, so you'll be able to do everything we do here at home after.
We'll be on grass and some people had many mosquito bites last week, so avoid wearing a t-shirt and absolutely do not wear shorts, and wear full sleeves/pants instead (ideally a little loose/baggy fit). We'll also do some exercises on the ground, so bring a mat if you don't want to be directly on the grass and wear shoes that have good traction. If you want to do pullup/bar/ring exercises, arrive early or stay late (we don't have time to do those during the event). You can also bring your own equipment (resistance bands, parallettes, weight vest, ...) and work on your own/ask for workout suggestions/provide workout ideas.
If you arrive late/can't find us, check the comments (scroll down past this description to the bottom of the page).
If you're interested in this event but can't make it because of time/location, leave a comment below. If you know parks with calisthenics/workout equipment, add that in a comment below too.
