About us
Berkhamsted Walks and Social welcomes all friends, new and established, to our group. We do ask members to provide a clear profile photo of themselves. The aim of our group is to provide our members with opportunities to meet people with similar interests and to make new friends who want to get out and about in the local area. We offer three walks per week (two midweek and one weekend) in the surrounding countryside. We also offer a range of other events and have a strong commitment to supporting our local community and local events. We organise film nights, theatre trips, concerts, book club, wine club, pub nights, meals out etc.
We are looking for new, committed hosts with fresh ideas, too, to help our local group grow and develop, offering a range of regular and new events to suit the different interests and tastes of our members.
Some events will have a small cost so that the organiser can cover any expenses but most events will remain free of charge. As walks are our most regular events, we ask members to donate £1 towards our costs.
We ask that all members keep their RSVPs up to date and respect the efforts made by all hosts in offering local and varied events for our enjoyment.
Look forward to you joining us at an event soon!

Berkhamsted Castle: Twelfth Night
Berkhamsted Castle, HP4 1HD, Berkhamsted, GBTickets are £24.54 (including fee) and are available using the following link:
Twelfth NightJoin Nonsense Theatre for a Nonsensical Medieval Romp of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night
Twins Viola and Sebastian are separated in a shipwreck. They find themselves on the island of Illyria, a place where epic romances meets utter nonsense, where nobles speak in poetry, peasants break into song, and no one is ever entirely sober or entirely sane.
Nonsense Theatre brings the true wit and absurdity of Shakespeare’s beloved play with a medieval twist. If you have ever wanted to witness the love-child of Robin Hood Men in Tights, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Princess Bride, Pirates of the Caribbean, and A Knight’s Tale, then look no further.
Bring a picnic, a picnic blanket or camping chair. Even though it’s summer, this is an outdoor performance, and we recommend that you also bring sun screen, warm clothes and waterproofs. Please take all litter home with you.Parking is tricky in Berkhamsted. Four hours fee parking is available in Canal Fields car park but this may fill up quickly. The NCP at Waitrose is another option otherwise parking in surrounding fields is possible.
