Biking Walking Sightseeing Tour

Kick off your Saturday late afternoon with an exciting exploratory coastal ride through Tung Chung! We will discover charming local spots, historic landmarks, and scenic waterfronts before heading out to the Airport Runway End along South Perimeter Road (南環路) to catch a breathtaking sunset with airplanes taking off overhead. We will wrap up the night with a delicious group dinner back in Tung Chung!

Note: Since this is an exploratory ride, we might need to find our way or look at maps along the way. Please only join if you don’t mind a bit of exploring and finding roads.

The Route:
Tung Chung MTR Exit A ➔ Ma Wan Chung Pier ➔ Hi Soul Living Store at Tung Chung Pier ➔ Pak Mong Village (白芒村) ➔ Hong Kong International Airport Historical Park ➔ Historic Aircraft at Cathay City ➔ Airport Runway End (跑道盡頭 - 南環路) ➔ Dinner in Tung Chung Town Centre around 8:00pm

Rider Requirements & Route Conditions
Speed: You need to be able to bike at 14km/hour on flat roads.
Bike Control: You need to have good bike control. The route is mostly on roads with car traffic, with some sections on proper bike tracks and footpaths.
Night Riding: As we will be riding into the evening, please bring your own bike lights (a front light and a rear red light), especially if you are using LocoBike.

Bike Type & Logistics: We will be using shared bikes for this trip (Rental: HelloBike or LocoBike).

Note: HelloBike is recommended!
Their bikes are newer, safer, and feature automatic front and rear lights that turn on from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, making it much safer for our night session.

Shared Bike Logistics (Action Required Before You Arrive!)
To ensure we can start riding immediately, please download and set up your rental apps before arriving at the meeting point.

***HelloBike (Recommended): **Check the app for pricing options. (Newer bikes + auto night bike lights for better safety!)
*** LocoBike: **Buy a 24-hour Day Pass ($20) ahead of time.
*Make sure your account is ready and topped up so you can unlock a bike the moment we find one!

Essentials:
A helmet, cycling gloves, umbrella, mosquito repellent, bike lights, and a great mood for a night ride!

Event Details & Groups
We will be exploring 5 beautiful beaches in Tuen Mun! We have two options so everyone can join at their own pace:

Group A ( Long Distance – 1.8 km )
We will swim outside the shark nets from Castle Peak Beach (青山灣) to Kadoorie Beach (加多利灣), Cafeteria Old Beach (舊咖啡灣), Cafeteria New Beach (新咖啡灣), and finish at Golden Beach (黃金海岸泳灘). Please see the route map in the photo album.
**You can exit early at any point after completing 1 km.
***Important Note: For Group A, we will be swimming in areas outside the shark nets and without lifeguards. For safety reasons, you must bring a floating aid *(please see the reference sample in the photo album). Otherwise, you cannot join Group A.

Group B (Leisure Fun Swim)
A relaxed swim at Cafeteria New Beach and the adjacent beaches.
Note: Lifeguards are on duty in these beach swimming areas, so a floating aid is not required. Please bring $5 and a padlock if you wish to use the public lockers.

Social & Lunch
After swimming, both Group A and Group B will gather on the beach to relax and enjoy drinks together at the Long wooden beach of Cafeteria New Beach . Afterward, we will walk over to Gold Coast Piazza for a early delicious group lunch !

What to Bring
Group A: Floating aid (MANDATORY), goggles, sunscreen, swim caps, water.
