About us

About Me:
I am Yogesh, recently moved to Elk Grove from San Jose. I am a software engineer by profession and like playing bollywood music (and other pop songs) on piano/keyboards primarily as a hobby. I have been playing, practicing bollywood songs as hobby for quite sometime and also play as a keyboard player for some live shows.
I also teach begininers in my free time to get them quickly started on bollywood music journey on piano or a electronic keyboard

I am creating this group to find some like minded folks in and around Elk Grove.

More about this group

This group is dedicated towards meeting musicians, singers who likes playing, performing, jamming on bollywood music live using music instruments. You dont have to be a professional musician to join this group. The idea is to have a community who likes Indian Bollywood music and want to enjoy live music jamming, learn, improve their music abilities

This group is not for small children, however if any adult who wants to bring their child to any jamming event to get them exposed to bollywood music then they are welcome to attend the event, provided they accompany the child. It has to be clearly informed in advance that you are bringing someone who isnt part of this group.

The plan is to keep this group free of any prejudices, hate, politics. Lets all enjoy music together.

I will conduct a interesting workshop in Elk Grove, CA for bollywood music lovers which will cover the following (and more) -

*How to play bollywood songs on piano or keyboard

What you need to know to perform songs ?
*How hard it is to do it, how can you start ?

Get information on different keyboards/ pianos available in market and their differences. which one is best for you ?
*I will play and show some playing demonstrations of hindi songs, from golden era of bollywood to some latest hits. Talk about how each song is structured and how to listen to songs if you want to play it on keyboards

The attendees will get opportunity to showcase their keyboard skills and share their experiences with others. They can also share what help, if any, they need progressing to next level
*Understand what it takes to jam and play by ear even when you havent practiced a song for long.

Any other topics that you bring to the event

Note the following:
- This is a unique workshop. You wont get this level of information anywhere in this area especially on bollywood music. Its free to attend !
- Seats are limited, so hurry and sign up fast.
- This event is for adults only and only for folks who enjoy bollywood music.
- You do not need to have any prior music knowledge or you do not need to be proficient or even a keyboard/piano player. If you want to start learning music attend this to know how to do it.
- You dont need to bring anything except your positive energy . I will give some writeups for you to take home.
- I guarantee you that this will be an eye-opener and a very interesting workshop.
- I plan to cover bollywood hindi music mostly in this workshop. I might cover some marathi, english western pop or western classical piano pieces to show some musical concept.
- If you are not into bollywood hindi music this workshop is probably not for you.
- I will conduct more workshops so dont worry if you cant make it to this.
