Welcome to the Brush and Ink Mandarin Social Club. This is a relaxed space for anyone interested in the art of Chinese calligraphy, regardless of your skill level. We get together to practice brush strokes, share tips on technique, and enjoy the meditative process of working with ink and rice paper. Whether you are a fluent speaker looking to sharpen your characters or someone just starting to learn about the history and craft of calligraphy, you are welcome here.
Our gatherings are informal and meant to be a break from the busy pace of the week. We provide a quiet environment to focus on our practice, but there is always plenty of time to chat and get to know one another while we work. If you have your own brushes and ink, feel free to bring them along, though we always have some extra supplies on hand for those who are just trying it out for the first time. We look forward to meeting you and sharing a few hours of steady practice together.
