About us
CAT group bike rides are geared toward nurturing new riders who are discovering the enjoyment of bicycling. We highlight local bike routes that serve fun and useful destinations like bakeries, coffee shops, local businesses, parks, etc., while utilizing the network of trails and streets.
We also offer special rides that promote biking to work and overnight touring such as bike camping trips/bikepacking.
CAT is an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization and here's our mission:
CAT–Coalition for Appropriate Transportation strengthens our Lehigh Valley community and our environment through bicycling, pedestrian accessibility, and public transportation.
CAT works to improve mobility for everyone. Better bicycling, walking/ADA accessibility, and public transit develop a stronger, smarter economy and a higher quality of life. Sustainable transportation reduces traffic congestion, counters climate change, and offers a healthier community for everyone.
CAT serves adults & children of Pennsylvania’s Lehigh & Northampton Counties.

OTH ride to Sophistiqué Bakery
Bethlehem Rose Garden, 8th Ave and W Union Blvd, Bethlehem, PA, USBonjour, mes amis!
Let’s take a ride to one of our favorite bakeries - Sophistique, 960 Hamilton St, Allentown. We'll meet at the Bethlehem Rose Garden (near the corner of 8th Avenue and W. Raspberry Street), with a ride start time of 9:30 a.m..Our route is a little over 13 miles total, on urban streets, with small roads as much as possible. (You can find the route map here. You'll see that the route puts this ride at nearly 16 mi total, as I put the return trip largely on the D&L, which keeps the elevation extremely low, but adds to the mileage. If most of us prefer, we can instead simply return the way we came, which puts our total mileage closer to 12 miles.)
CAT's Over the Hill rides are intended for any and all who are free during the day. All ages and skill levels are welcome. As with all CAT rides, we'll keep to a moderate pace, and no one will be dropped.
Come a little early if you need to air up your tires, adjust your seat, lube your chain, or do any other minor adjustments. If your bike needs more serious attention, you can get help ahead of time at the CAT bike co-op.All riders must wear a helmet. In addition, you may want to bring some water and a spare tube that matches your wheel.
Any last minute changes due to weather will be made through Meetup. If you have any other questions we can help with, feel free to contact Anne (annef@lvcat.org) or Jean (jean@lvcat.org). We look forward to riding with you!

Trail Ride to Mueller's General Store
D&L Forks of the Delaware Trailhead, 210 South Delaware Drive, Easton, PA, USCome join us for another leisurely exploration of the Delaware and Lehigh Trail! We will ride the towpath through Delaware Canal State Park, from its northern terminus at the Forks of the Delaware (Easton), to our lunch spot at Mueller's General Store & Deli (just north of Riegelsville), before retracing our steps back to Easton. Bring a few dollars for lunch!
The trail is flat, and the surface is hard-packed dirt and gravel. Most bikes with sturdy tires should be OK. Our total distance, out and back, will be about 16 miles.
Click here for a map of our route on RideWithGPS.
Our meeting place is the D&L Forks of the Delaware Trailhead (South Delaware Drive, Easton). See the map below.
We'll start gathering around 9:45 AM, with a ride start time of 10:00 AM after an "ABC Quick Check" of our bikes for ride-worthiness. Come early if you need air in your tires, a seat adjustment, a spot of lube, or any other quick adjustment.
Like most all CAT rides, no one will be dropped -- even if you are riding very slowly, you are welcome on this ride! All riders are required to wear a helmet. We advise that you also bring a spare tube that fits your wheel, and a bottle of water. If you have a lock, bring it so we can lock up during lunch.
This ride is weather permitting. Any last minute change or cancellations will be announced on Meetup, so please check here for weather concerns. If you have any other questions we can help with, please contact ride leader Don (donk@lvcat.org) or Anne (annef@lvcat.org).
