What we’re about
If you love to walk and meet people outside of the usual places, this group is for you. It's open to everyone of all ages. (It's not a hiking group -- we won't be climbing anything -- though hikers are welcome.) 😊
We'll visit some of the best spots, including safe trails, in Kennebec and Somerset counties. If the group grows, we can schedule visits farther away.
• Walks will average 2-4 miles.
• Lunch or dinner (including takeout, picnics, etc.) or visiting a nearby local event is an option after the walk.
• Meetings will last a few hours and take place mostly on weekends and occasional weekdays, like Fridays, at least twice a month.
It's a chance to get out more and meet new people while you enjoy a favorite pastime.
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you and walking with you sometime.
Event cancellations/rescheduling: If there will be a major wind or rainstorm or it will be hot and humid without a breeze (80 degrees Fahrenheit or above), the event will be cancelled and rescheduled. I'll try to give at least 48 hours' notice.

See all- Skowhegan State Fair - Food, Vendors, Music, Demolition Derby, & MoreSkowhegan State Fairgrounds, Skowhegan, ME
This oldest continually running Maine fair offers something for everyone. We'll meet an hour before the Demolition Derby and live music start (Six Ways to Sunday will perform), which gives us a chance to visit the exhibition halls and vendors -- and do plenty of walking.
NOTE: Admission and/or parking fee required. Admission is $15.00 (at the gate or online); infield parking at gate #2 costs $5.00 more. Parking is free in the Hannaford or Wal-Mart lots next to the fair (and if it's available, offers a good excuse to do some shopping later).
Where we'll meet: At the Flower Shows building near the Restrooms building and gate #2 -- opposite the store lots. Fair map and directions.
