The Chicagoland area's premiere and largest gamer group. Events include board games, card games, party games, and more, and are held throughout the city and suburbs in game stores, bars, and other locales. Come join us for a great time.

We're back!

Join us on the 4th Thursday of each month for Board Games in Lincoln Square/Ravenswood! We will meet at Dank Haus, which is right across from the Western Brown line stop. Typically we play a mix of big group games (8-12 people) and smaller games (3-6 people), depending on what people are interested in playing. Some examples of game we've played in the past are Secret Hitler, Werewords, Codenames, Green Team Wins, Cat in the Box, Bohnanza, Skull, Evolution, For Sale, Catan, and Decrypto.

Some important things to know:

When: The 4th Thursday of the month, 7:30 PM
Where: Dank Haus German American Cultural Center, 2nd or 6th floor (I will update when I get confirmation, but follow signs to "Neighborhood Nights" when you get there)
There is a full bar but no food or table service, though there are plenty of places to get food nearby and you can bring food in if you like.
Please support our host and order something! They are providing us the space free of charge.
I'll bring a good selection of games, but if there's something you'd like to play feel free to bring your own!
You don't need to know how to play any of the games! Games will be taught if you don't know how to play.
RSVPs will be capped at 30. If you RSVP and then don't plan to come, please update your RSVP so that someone else can come.

Come play all kinds of board games on Saturday nights! Both beginners and experienced gamers are welcome. Bring your own games or take demo games off the wall! Games can be rented for a small fee of $5 per large game or $3 for a small game. Table space is completely free! Played a game you like? Check out our inventory for games you can take home with you and we'll apply your rental fee to your purchase! (or buy first and get a free rental)

Feel free to come anytime Saturdays between 5 PM and 9 PM. Drop in and out as you like. Come with your own group or join a group looking for more players!

Food and BYOB friendly. Many food options are available near the area + down the street by Milwaukee and North. We also have snacks and bottled/canned drinks available.

Division Blue Line and CTA Bus 56 stop in front of the shop.

For those driving, the street across from the shop is free parking, otherwise the side streets closer to Ashland/Milwaukee/Division intersection have some permit-less parking available in the residential area + north of the intersection has more free options. Elsewhere, there is meter parking on the street.

In-person gaming has returned to Vernon Area Library! Don't worry, the virtual Games for Grown Ups program will continue on as well, giving everyone the option to join in-person or virtually via our Discord Server.

IN-PERSON: The library has a collection of games. Adam, your host, will bring a collection of 50-60 games to every event, and will always bring the game of Crokinole along.
