Chilled Out Meetups is one of Leeds biggest groups organising social events for 18 to 38 year olds. First time here? See information for new members by clicking this link.
Our events include an organised walk every other week (over summer), coffee and drinks socials, women-only events and one off visits to destinations in Leeds and sometimes further out. We also run 'one off' events from time to time, and hope to add more types of activities in future.
Are you in charge of a venue or other potential event destination? We'd love to hear from you about working together to put on a Meetup. In return for a space, we can offer a large group of new customers and potentially repeat business in the form of one our regular events. Feel free to send us a message.
ORGANISERS WANTED - Our group is co-owned equally by its organisers. Most decisions are made by organizers giving unanimous approval. If you're interested in running events let us know, no matter what type of event you want to do - remember as an organiser you decide the time, place and activity.
We are fully committed to everyone feeling safe and secure at events so there will be zero tolerance for any harassment, unwanted attention or any other disrespectful behavior. This is a space without any kind of prejudice including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia etc. and this includes 'jokes' and 'memes', please take it elsewhere. We may organise women-only events - if this is a problem then this isn't the right group for you.
You can make a donation to the group here.
If you treat others with kindness and use some common sense you should get along fine here, but if you'd like to check our rules you can see them here.
Our financials are kept open for public viewing. You can see the ledger here.

FAQ
Do I need any previous experience?
No first time climbers are welcome, this isn't a training or lesson session but it's fairly straightforward to have fun!
Do I need my own equipment?
No, equipment is available at LSD
What should I wear?
Comfortable sports gear that you don't mind getting covered in chalk. Avoid clothing that doesn't let you stretch/flex for reaching holds. You can climb in casual clothes if you wish.
How do I get here?
Parking is available nearby. There is a bus stop a 2 minute walk away, use an app to see bus times and stops.1 attendee
Women Only Speakeasy (Bridge End Social)
Bridge End Social, 24-32 Bridge End, Leeds LS1 4DJ,, Leeds, GBNote: These women only events are made possible by the attendees and, when available, volunteer hosts. To keep them running we need your assistance by looking out for your fellow members and keeping your RSVP up to date. Although these events normally go ahead without a problem, attendance numbers and issues with the venue (too busy etc.) are outside of our control.
Women only social at a bar for anyone who prefers a drink with their chit chat.
About the venue
Bridge End Social is one of our favourite places to go, just a couple of minutes walk from the bottom of Call Lane. It's a spacious venue with a bar upstairs and (if available) a lounge / games room downstairs.
Getting here
Bridge End Social is just slightly south from the main part of the city centre. It's a 5 minute walk from all train and bus connections. If you're driving, you can use one of the various multi-storey car parks nearby, or if you're OK with walking a little bit further (around 10 mins) you can park at Crown Point Shopping Centre for free for 3 hours.
Afterwards
We have a mixed event directly after this one, its at the same venue but in the downstairs room, you can see the details and RSVP here.13 attendees
New Years Resolution Social
Bridge End Social, 24-32 Bridge End, Leeds LS1 4DJ,, Leeds, GBDid you know that getting out and socialising is not just good for your mental heath, but it has been linked to better outcomes for your physical health? Interacting with others is essential for a balanced lifestyle and we should always make time for it.
So, my challenge to you is to make getting out there your New Years Resolution. If you've never attended one of our events before, this is the perfect chance. If you are a returning member, we're more than happy to have you of course.
We'll be hanging out in the downstairs room at Bridge End Social for some light conversation, games and maybe a drink.
FAQ
Should I come with someone?
This isn't at all necessary - the vast majority of members turn up by themselves for the first time and it's normal to not know anyone else in the group at first. However, you can bring up to 5 guests if you'd like, as long as you add the +1s to your RSVP.
I feel nervous about attending, any advice?
Please don't be, there will be other people in the same shoes as you and attending for the first time. Although it can seem daunting, you'll soon find you had nothing to worry about. If the number of people seems intimidating, arrive 10-15 minutes early so you are amongst the first to arrive and can settle in before everyone else turns up.
is there a dress code / do I need to bring anything / anything else I need to know?
Nope you can just turn up. There's no dress code and no need to bring anything except an open mind. Apart from that, I highly recommend arriving within the first 30 minutes for the best experience and being ready to start at least some conversations yourself.
