The Clear Creek Makerspace is one of Coloradoβs largest makerspaces and among Metro Denverβs go-to destinations for hands-on DIY and creative expression. Located in the heart of Wheat Ridge, just 15 minutes from downtown Denver, we offer 7,500 square feet of space designed to help you make (almost) anything you can imagine!
Whatβs a makerspace? Just think of us as a gym for your creative muscles. We provide affordable access to high-tech tools that you might not have at home. This class is the first step in using our Eastwood Elite 4'x4' CNC Plasma Table, covering the fundamentals of operation and setup for producing clean, precise cuts of parts and pieces. Whether you're brand new to CNC machinery or just new to plasma cutting, this course will give you the confidence to work with the machine safely and effectively.
Attendees will learn how to make cuts and configure the machine for varying material thicknesses, as well as understand how different materials may affect cut quality and speed. We will navigate through the menu options to ensure proper setup and use, including key settings you'll return to every time you run a job. By the end of the course, you will be able to make cuts using pre-loaded shapes from the machine's system library, setting you up with the foundational skills needed to take on more advanced projects down the road.ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ

Thanks for your interest in Stained Glass for Beginners! Join us for a four hour workshop where you'll craft your own small stained glass project from the bottom up! This hands-on session is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike, offering an introduction to the timeless craft of stained glass.
All materials, tools, PPE and equipment will be provided along with guided instruction on the basics of design principles, selecting and cutting glass, copper foil techniques, and soldering and finishing techniques.
By the end of this workshop, you'll have your very-own unique stained glass creation creation!
*For this course we use a standard Lead based solder (Lead/Tin 60/40). While we do provide sufficient PPE, we now have an option for Lead-Free Solder (Tin/Copper 90.3/0.7) for an additional feeββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
- History of Stained Glass
- Safety Essentials β Eye protection, careful handling, and proper ventilation
- Choosing Your Pattern & Glass β Design considerations, types of glass, and difficulty levels
- Cutting the Glass β Scoring, breaking, and controlling where the glass separates
- Grinding β Refining the fit of each piece using a water-cooled diamond grinder
- Applying Copper Foil β Wrapping each piece edge with adhesive copper foil tape
- Soldering β Flux, tacking, and beading solder along the seams
- Finishing β Washing, optional patina, and wax/polish for a final luster

Hand-cut dovetails are one of the most timeless and admired joints in woodworking. over the centuries, dovetails have been recognized for their strength, beauty, and a mark of true craftsmanship. In this class, youβll learn the traditional techniques behind this timeless joint, working slowly and intentionally with hand tools. Designed for beginners, the course focuses on understanding the process, building confidence, and connecting you to a skill that woodworkers have valued for generations. By the end of the course, you will have built a hardwood step stool that is approximately 12 x 8 x 8" with dovetail joints.
No prior experience needed for this course, all supplies and materials are provided. But if you've taken my Bench Hook and Wood Mallet course, please bring both and you'll get another chance to use them! Partcipants will be introduced to each tool, guided through the steps, and have lots of hands-on experience. We'll be sawing and chiseling for a majority of this workshop, so be prepared to work!
This 5-hour workshop is hosted at Clear Creek Makerspace and open to everyone. $175 per participant, $140 for CCM members.

Youβll build real projects, learn essential tools and joinery, and leave with the confidence to design and create your own custom pieces. I recommend taking these courses in order as each subsequent course will layer on more advanced topics. That said, none of these courses will have pre-requistives, so feel free to take any course that piques your interest. - Woodworking I: Intro to Woodshop - Woven Wood Cutting Boards -- Learn how to safely use essential wood shop equipment such as the miter saw, planer, jointer, table saw, bandsaw, router table, and more.
- Woodworking II: Wall-hung Display Shelves-- Beginner joinery such as butt, rabbet, dowel, domino, pocket holes, grooves, dados, french cleats and more.
- Woodworking III: Bench Hook and Wood Mallet-- Intermediate joinery such as sliding dovetails and the mortise and tenon.
- Woodworking IV: Handcut Dovetail Step Stool -- Advanced joinery such as handcut dovetails. This course will focus on layout, cutting pins and tails for a perfect fit... and fixing gaps post-mortem.
- Woodworking V: Bending & Laminations Serving Tray(TBA)-- Advanced topics such as bending on a hot iron and using multi-part or structural forms to build laminations.

- Hand sawing techniques with a Dozuki saw

The step stool will be approxiately 12 x 8 x 8"
A variety of hardwoods will be provided, such as walnut, maple, mahogany, cherry, and more. The hardwood will already be milled and ready for joinery. If you want to learn how to process raw wood, please take Intro to Woodworking.

This hands-on workshop will guide you step-by-step to build a cutting board! We'll learn this fun skill and how to safety use woodshop tools
No prior experience needed for this course, all supplies and materials are provided. Partcipants will be introduced to each machine, provided operational overview, safety considerations, and have hands-on experience.
During this 4-hour workshop learn how to build your own custom hardwood cutting board. I will expertly guide you as you learn how to safely use a variety of essential wood shop tools. You will gain practical skills in milling rough lumber, edge-gluing boards, clamping, sanding, and applying a food-safe finish. We will also cut a single "weave", adding a mind-boggling detail to your boards. Willing partners can swap half their board to take the second glue-up to the next level!
By the end of the workshop, you'll proudly take home a beautiful board you made yourself.
$150 per participant, $120 for CCM members. CCM members will receive an email to the Woodshop Quiz at the end of this course. Passing this short quiz is part of the requirement for members to gain 24/7 personal woodshop access.
