What we’re about
Cloud Native Oslo is the official Cloud Native Computing Foundation Meetup group about the technologies hosted under CNCF umbrella (https://community.cncf.io/cloud-native-and-kubernetes-oslo)
We host talks from anyone doing cool things with Kubernetes, and the other cloud native technologies, including companies using them in production or vendors who are pushing the boundaries of what the cloud native techs can do.
Presentations will be focused on demos, and not sales pitches. The meetup will be organized in an open and democratic way, where anyone that wants to help out organizing will be welcome.
We believe in open sponsorships, so anyone can cover the cost of food, space, and travel for speakers. Organizations donating speakers, food/drinks, or space will automatically count as sponsors for the event.
To become an organizer, sponsor, or speaker, please reach out to us!

Nikolai Norman Andersen - Why Secrets Belong in Git
Encrypted secrets that is! The audience will learn about tools and techniques that will enable them to version control secrets alongside the code these secrets belong to. Easily share secrets with new team members and get a full audit log as a bonus. All while following modern security practices.
The session will introduce SOPS and how attendees can use keys stored in secure remote services like Azure Key Vault or HashiCorp Vault to encrypt and decrypt files. Access is easily controlled through the same identity providers they use for other services. The presentation will cover some gotchas to be aware of, but there's no need to be afraid of putting secrets in git!
Fredrik Klingenberg - Kargo as a tool for CI/CD with GitOps
GitOps has become the primary method for managing K8s cluster state—both for platform components and applications. However, GitOps does not provide a standard way to deploy sequentially across environments, such as staging and production. Teams have devised various creative solutions at the expense of reusability across projects and potentially stability.
Kargo, a tool from Akuity (the creators of ArgoCD), aims to solve this problem. Kargo provides reusable, standardized deployment steps, visualizes environments and their versions, and enables sophisticated deployment pipelines. This talk will examine Kargo, its capabilities, and how Flytoget uses it.
