Wednesday Workshop #4: Monetization
This interactive workshop helps artists understand how to translate their creative practice, audience, and content into sustainable income streams. Through guided exercises, real-world examples, and group discussion, participants will explore how monetization can feel aligned, intentional, and rooted in their values rather than transactional.

Opening & Icebreaker (30 min)
- Introductions
- Have you ever made money from your art? How?
- What challenges or blocks do you experience around monetization?
Monetization in Practice (15 min)
- Overview of artist revenue streams (commissions, exhibitions, grants, brand collaborations, digital products, teaching, etc.)
- Examples of artists building sustainable income
- Discussion: monetization as exchange vs monetization as extraction
Reflection Activity (30 min)
- Participants will explore their monetization potential through guided prompts:
- What are you currently offering or could you offer?
- What feels aligned vs misaligned when it comes to making money from your work?
- What skills, experiences, or formats could become income streams?
Integration & Application (30 min)
- Identifying your most viable income opportunities
- How to package and present your work or services
- Pricing basics and communicating your value
