Bible Study Topic: Jude Chapter 1 Verse 17-23: A Call to Remain Faithful
In these verses, Jude reminds believers that the appearance of mockers was prophesied and urges the church to respond by building themselves up in the "most holy faith" and praying in the Holy Spirit. This synopsis highlights Jude’s mission for us to stay grounded in God’s love while actively showing mercy to those who are doubting or lost, all while being careful not to be stained by their sin.
For your study guide, focus on three key areas: first, the spiritual "maintenance" of staying in God's love through prayer and faith (verses 20-21); second, the different ways to show mercy to those who are wavering or in danger (verses 22-23) and third, how to balance compassion for others with personal holiness in a world full of distractions.
