Hello altogether! This group aims to bring together all hiking enthusiasts from Düsseldorf and its region. Our hikes lead us across Düsseldorf as well as all the beautiful places surrounding our city. By the way: Every member is more than welcome to suggest his and her own hiking ideas. Simply write a message to one of our organizers and we'll figure out a great tour! On another note, this group is proud to be a very international communtity with great folks from all around the world. What defines the meetup culture is the mutual respect towards each other regardless of one's ethnicity, sexuality or political views. All that matters is the willingness to having a great time together! :)

Perfect.
Let’s start the first day of the year by walking into it — through quiet streets, changing light, and whatever energy we’re carrying from the night before.
Call it a walk, call it a mini hike, call it a reset stroll — it’s easy, relaxed, and open to everyone.
People from Düsseldorf and nearby cities are very welcome.

🥾 The “hike”
We’ll begin with a relaxed urban hike (mostly city, easy pace), slowly heading toward Grafenberger Wald.
Chatting, silence, yawning, reflective thoughts — all welcome.

Lace up your boots and step into the dramatic heart of the Eifel, where ancient volcanoes, rugged limestone cliffs, and quiet winter forests set the stage for an unforgettable hike. Expect sweeping views over the Kyll valley, striking rock formations near Gerolstein, and the serene open landscapes as we move toward Oberbettingen.
❄️ Snow can be expected, adding an extra touch of magic to this already spectacular route.

• Dramatic volcanic and limestone formations around Gerolstein
🏯 Kasselburg a medieval hill castle ruin on a basalt outcrop in Pelm near Gerolstein, dating back to the 12th century
🛕 Erlöserkirche & Roman Villa Sites – Around Gerolstein you find the 19th-century church and foundation remains of Villa Sarabodis (Roman era)
