The Emory River from Nemo to Oakdale is an easy float trip suitable for beginner paddlers. The scenery is good, and all of the rapids are easy class I-II except for Nemo rapid (right at the beginning of the run) which is easy class 3. We’ll need at least 815 CFS (Cubic Feet per Second) Otherwise we’ll be dragging our boats. If you take out at Camp Austin is about 5.7 miles. If you continue to Oakdale is about 9 miles. You will need a whitewater kayak and able to handle a kayak in current. We'll shuttle our vehicles to get everyone to the take out. You chose the take our Camp Austin (5.7 miles) or Oakdale (9.0 miles). If your wanting to learn whitewater paddling this is the place to start.
