Edinburgh International's Social Group

The fringe is soon here again! So lets get out and absorb some of the international atmosphere and meet some of the festival visitors. There is no better way to meet people and experience the atmosphere than having a drink and chatting to people who have come from all over the world to the experience fringe.
So lets do a crawl of Edinburgh's city centre pubs and finish the night at the legendary Finnegan's wake.
We shall be starting at 19.00 or so at the World's end pub on the Royal Miles (EH1 1TB) and staying to 20.00 to give everyone a chance to arrive.
We shall then move up the street to the Mitre bar.
Followed by The Brass monkey pub.
On to Greyfriar's Bobby pub.
Finally Finnegans wake on Grassmarket.
There is no set schedule apart from the start time. We may spend longer in some pubs, and less in others.

THERE IS A FEE FOR ATTENDING THE EVENT. THE MONEY IS USED TO FUND THE GROUP. IT WILL COST £2 FOR THE EVENT IF YOU HAVEN'T CONTRIBUTED TO GROUP.

Please join us for a lovely hike in the Pentland hills! We shall be completing the Harlaw Reservoir, Threipmuir Reservoir and Bavelaw Marsh Circular walk ( we shall be finishing where we started).
The walk will be approximately 12 km / 7.5 miles from the bus stop to completion and is moderate going, there are a few places on the walk that is quite challenging, so be prepared. The ground can be quite rough so please wear sensible footwear.
The walk compromises of a mixture of road and the Pentlands trails.
The walk shall take approximately 4 to 4.5 hours. We shall be having breaks on the way, so please bring food and snacks to eat, and something to drink.
This is Scotland, so please be prepared regarding the weather, anything can happen. Please dress accordingly.
Could we please meet outside the Vodafone store on Princes street (EH2 3AA) at 11.20 am, we shall be taking bus 44 at 11.38 from bus stop PZ.
The bus 44 returns every 20 mins from Balerno.
If people want to drive, please meet us at Harlaw reservoir, can we meet at Harlaw House visitor's centre (EH14 7AS) at 13,00 or so.

Please turn up for the event on time. I cannot answer messages from people who are late and want locations and meeting points etc as I am leading the walk and don't have time to constantly look at my phone.

The group works on the same basis of being a group of friends who go out walking together, who invite others to join them on this basis. Participants in Group events are reminded that outdoor activities frequently need specialist equipment (boots, waterproofs, etc) and the group does not provide these. Any Medical Conditions that may affect the participants during the walk should be notified to the walk leader prior to the start of the walk.
While accepting no responsibility or liability, for walks and other outdoor events, the event host or walk leader may, at their discretion, not admit you to join the walk or other event if in their opinion you are ill-equipped for the terrain and weather conditions.
Dogs are usually allowed on walks, but this is entirely at the discretion of the walk leader- please see the individual event details or contact the walk leader- dogs must be kept under close control at all times and on a lead where necessary or requested by the walk leader.
