What we’re about

Evanston Vegan Book Club

I (David) have decided to read a few books on the moral and political aspects of animal suffering. The plan is to select more obscure and difficult texts on animal suffering to challenge my understanding of the issue. If you like the look of the books I will be reading, why not come join me to discuss them over dinner!

To begin with, I am limiting the meetings to ~4 people so that we can have personal and deep discussions about the selected book.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME - regardless of your lifestyle choices. These meetings are for open-minded people who want to be challenged. The only asks are that (1) you expend serious effort to read the entire book, and (2) order vegan food out of respect for the group's purpose.

Please note: (1) This is designed to be an intimate experience, not a casual drop-in event. I reserve the right to remove members who no-show or who cancel their confirmed RSVP within 24 hours of the event starting. (2) This group was inspired by Haz who hosts the Chicago Vegan Book Circle (https://www.meetup.com/chicago-vegan-book-circle/) - I hope you are doing well, Haz!
