Watercolor cats!! And dogs, and fish, and lizards, and geckos, and rats, and guinea pigs, and horses, and dragons, and unicorns, and...
Bring a picture of your beloved creature (be it real or imaginary) and we will sketch a cute cartoon or caricature that captures what makes your pet unique. From there, we'll use pens and ink to create a bold base for our watercolors. You'll have your choice of colors and teacher instruction through each step of your painting.
By the end of the class, you'll have a full-color, watercolor illustration of your furry friend and some new watercolor skills under your belt!
Max M (he/him) is Push/Pull's resident watercolor fanatic. He's been exploring the medium for over 8 years and can't wait to share his passion with you! When he's not painting, you can find Max hiking, swimming, and cooking.
- DIY Screen PrintingPush/Pull, Seattle, WA$65.00
This is a paid class that requires registration. Sign up here.
Join Maxx to learn how to screen print! You'll create your own 5" x 7" design using screen writing fluid and screen blocking fluid to paint on your art. Screens are custom made by Maxx and she'll show you how you can make your own too.
Start putting your art on patches, clothes, stickers and more. Class is 4 hours and includes one long and one short break for drying time. Once your screen is ready, you'll be able to print your design during the class time on paper or fabric. You're welcome to bring in your own small items to print. All materials and tools are provided and at the end you get to take your screen home to keep printing!
Maxx taught herself how to screen print over a decade ago and has been printing works for herself and others on paper, fabric and stickers ever since. You can find her printing on many of the items at Push/Pull.
- Intro to Alcohol MarkersPush/Pull, Seattle, WA$100.00
This is a paid class that requires registration. Sign up here.
Calling all fashion and comics enthusiasts! Want to try drawing with industry-standard alcohol markers? Or maybe you already have some, and have been curious about more advanced techniques like layering, blending, and matching colors from references.
In Intro to Alcohol Markers, we'll learn to draw and render with this medium that is totally different from water-based markers. Alcohol markers provide a great way to do fast layered drawings and are a favorite of fashion and comic illustrators.
This class will include a set of 12 alcohol markers and a paper pad to take home with you--a $75 value! This class is recommended for ages 12 and up.
Note: This class has been moved to September 28, 13-3 pm.
RJ (she/they) is a mixed media artist, speculative fiction writer, poet, and comics artist. She began using alcohol markers in college for a webcomic called Sad Chimera Princess, and now uses them for further comics characters and mixed media pieces. See more and connect @beccaquibbles

Concerned about the state of... well, everything? Let's join together and use our special weird powers for good!
Be a part of the Riff Raff League, a group of neighbors banding together for mutual aid, community building, and political action. We'll meet weekly for an hour to talk through what's happening locally and nationally and to brainstorm what we can do about it.
Come when you can, provide ideas and solutions, or just listen to what's going on in the neighborhood. This event is free, after-hours at Push/Pull. RSVPs are appreciated, but we will not turn anyone away. You are welcome to bring snacks to share. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
Push/Pull's Director, Maxx FG, will be moderating meetings of the RiffRaff League. Maxx has been passionate about politics from a young age and believes collective action is critical to a functioning democracy.
