In this hike we will walk round the Mookerheide, a huge, hilly plain that was once the edge of a glacier, and a bit more recently the scene of a bloody battle (The 1574 Battle of Mookerheyde) that was part of the Eighty Years' War. The start/end point is Mook Molenhoek train station. We still stop roughly half way for food/drinks at the Herberg Restaurant 't Zwaantje.
The walk is hilly, but this makes for some great views. The terrain is uneven and there is a variation in path quality (smooth, sandy, rocky, uneven), so sturdy walking shoes are advised. Remember to bring of water and maybe some snacks although we are stopping for refreshments half way through.
