From sizzling Sichuan chicken and savory dim sum to expertly wok-fried noodles, this is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy high-quality, flavorful dishes in a stylish setting. We’ll be gathering at Mana Modern to share a variety of plates and sample their unique culinary creations. It’s a great setting to dive into their menu and discover some new favorites while catching up with the community. You can get a preview of their offerings here: https://www.manamodern.com/The Deets:
- BYOB: Feel free to bring your favorite wine or beer to complement the modern flavors!
- Cost: As always, we will order appetizers for the table and everyone will order their own entree. Please anticipate the total cost to be approximately $35-$45 per person (including tax and a 20% tip). Please bring cash.
- Allergies: If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let me know as soon as you RSVP so I can check with the restaurant in advance.
- Important: I will send a confirmation message a day or two before our visit to finalize the headcount. If your plans change, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" promptly. This allows those on the waitlist to join us and helps me adjust our reservation accordingly.
- Location: Mana Modern is located at 719 N 2nd St in Northern Liberties. Street parking is available in the neighborhood, but public transportation and ride-sharing are encouraged.

Our World Food Tour continues with an exciting exploration of Afghan flavors at Setaara Afghan Cuisine! The beauty of Afghan food is that it stands as a testament to the various different empires that have crossed the country from the Greeks to the Mongols to the Mughals and Persians. For those that don’t like spicy food, they will be pleasantly surprised with the food being extremely savory, yet subtly seasoned. Adding the French fusion along with Ducktown Italian favorites really adds to the experience as those that aren't ready to try Afghan food can try their savory non-Afghan options.Why You Should Join Us:
Setaara Afghan Cuisine offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where you can discover the unique and delicious tastes of Afghanistan. From flavorful kebabs and hearty stews to aromatic rice dishes and savory dumplings, their menu provides a fascinating glimpse into Afghan culinary traditions. - Cost: On weekends they only serve the tasting menu
Setaara Tasting Menu ($69.77/person) - 1st Course: Choice of any 1 appetizer. (Note: Escargot is an additional charge)
- 2nd Course: Soup Du Jour
- 3rd Course: Choice of any 1 entree. (Note: Setaara Kabob and Beef Dijonnaise is an additional charge)
- 4th Course: Dessert of the Day
- On the table: Freshly baked Afghan and French bread.
- Note parties of 6 or more have an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. Tax is 6.63%.
- Bring enough CASH $$$ to make payment easier. If no one orders anything that is an additional charge expect to pay $90. If you have dietary restrictions send a private message to the Host ahead of time.
- Allergies: If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform me as soon as possible so I can notify the restaurant in advance.
- Important: There is a $150 hold on my credit card for this reservation. I have to provide the correct number of people no later than 48 hours before so I will confirm that you will be attending by Wednesday so people on the waitlist can move to "going" if there is room and I do not get charged for someone who does not show up. Please make sure to confirm. You will only be included in the reservation if you confirm. If you do not confirm, you will be moved to not going. If you can't attend, kindly change your RSVP to not going at least 48 hours prior.
- Parking: There is street and free parking for dinner is available at St. Michael’s Church at 21 N. Georgia Avenue, half a block away. I can't wait to see you there.
Bring your dancing shoes because there is a good chance we will head out to enjoy some music after dinner.
