Halloween party at my house! Not book club exclusive but all members are invited!
For the month of Halloween, we're reading the 1938 creature feature novella that inspired John Carpenter's The Thing! The story has also been published as "The Thing from Another World" and "Frozen Hell". For easiest access, the e-book is available in the Arapahoe district Libby system.
A 1912 manuscript is found a hundred years later and its transcriber slowly uncovers the story of a vampire.
I am scheduling us a full year to read Stephen King's "The Stand". 48 hours long on audio, more than 1k pages and longer than the Bible, "The Stand" tells the story of a post-apocalypse that has left behind only Good and Evil people. They begin to take sides in two factions, preparing for what the world will be.
