About us
Welcome to the Frederick Hiking Group for people in their 20's and 30's!
Our group is perfect for those looking to explore the beautiful outdoors, get some exercise, and make new friends in Frederick, MD. We organize hikes of varying difficulty levels and distances, from easy nature walks to more challenging summit hikes.
Our members are in their 20's and 30's and come from diverse backgrounds, but we all share a love of nature and adventure. We welcome hikers of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced hikers, and encourage everyone to challenge themselves and try new trails.
In addition to hiking, we also organize social events and other outdoor activities, such as kayaking, picnics, and post hike breweries and winery meetups. These events provide an opportunity to connect with other outdoor enthusiasts in a relaxed, fun setting.

We prioritize safety and environmental responsibility on our hikes and ask that all members follow Leave No Trace principles to minimize our impact on the environment.

Many of our events have waitlists on them and as a result if you are a no show at an event you may be automatically moved to the waitlist on the next event. Repeated no shows can result in expulsion from the group.

Mt. Airy Fireworks
Carroll County Public Library- Mt. Airy Branch, 705 Ridge Ave., Mt. Airy, MD, USLet's watch the Mt. Airy fireworks. Some websites are saying 9pm and some are saying 9:30pm. The firework show is usually 10 to 15 minutes long.
The Mt. Airy carnival is beforehand, should you want to attend.

Let's meet in the Carroll County Public Library - Mount Airy Branch parking lot at 8:30pm, and then walk along the sidewalk (on Merridale Avenue and Park Avenue roads) to get to the grassy area at the traffic light intersection of Park Avenue and Ridge Road. We can socialize before watching the fireworks.
Feel free to bring water, a chair, blanket and/or a flashlight. Hope to see you there!

Pilates on the Creek
Carroll Creek Amphitheater, Frederick, MD, USLet's do some pilates! (Men and women welcome)
Toned Studio has a free pilates class on Carroll Creek at the amphitheater. I went for the first time a week ago, having not done pilates before. The instructor was very supportive/encouraging, it was a laid-back atmosphere, and she has modifications for most exercises.

Thursdays at 9:30 AM (ends approximately at 10:15am)
Free outdoor mat class at Carrol Creek Amphitheater.

Meeting Location: We can meet at 9:15am at the amphitheater (on the side with the shade). It is always a good idea to get there early as the amphitheater fills up fast.
