Come for the coffee or tea, stay for the games! Bring your own board game or borrow one of the library's for this meetup for new adults. Since the library does have a limited selection of games, bringing your own board game to teach is highly encouraged. If you choose to borrow a game, you must do so with your library card.
This book group focuses on authors and stories that explore diverse and underrepresented voices and experiences. This month's book is "Happiness Falls" by Angie Kim. A little about the book: Mia, the irreverent, hyperanalytical twenty-year-old daughter, has an explanation for everything--which is why she isn't initially concerned when her father and younger brother Eugene don't return from a walk in a nearby park. They must have lost their phone. Or stopped for an errand somewhere. But by the time Mia's brother runs through the front door bloody and alone, it becomes clear that the father in this tight-knit family is missing and the only witness is Eugene, who has the rare genetic condition Angelman syndrome and cannot speak. What follows is both a ticking-clock investigation into the whereabouts of a father and an emotionally rich portrait of a family whose most personal secrets just may be at the heart of his disappearance. Books will be available at the Main Desk for one month before this meeting. New members are always welcome.
Join local author and spiritual medium, Cheryl Bradley, for a heartfelt introduction to her book, A Spirit’s Journey, which debuted as a #1 New Release on Amazon. Through a warm and engaging talk, Cheryl explores the soul’s path—from the peace of the Other Side, through the choices made before birth, into the human experience, and ultimately, the return home. Blending themes of soul planning, intuition, and the deeper meaning behind life’s relationships and challenges, this program offers a thoughtful and accessible look at the idea that our lives may be part of a greater unfolding guided by purpose. If you’d like to read the book in advance, it is available on Amazon. A limited number of copies will be available for purchase following the program, and she would be honored to sign one for you.
