Lets try New Haven-style pizza at the ~recently opened Ah-Beetz pizzeria off Barrett Pkwy on the Kennesaw/Marietta line. What is New Haven style you ask?
New Haven-style pizza, locally known as "apizza" (pronounced ah-BEETS), is a regional pizza style from Connecticut famous for its thin, chewy, and heavily charred crust. It is traditionally baked in a coal-fired oven, features a simple, savory tomato sauce, and uses shredded mozzarella only as an optional topping.
So there. Some might say it is burned because of the char on the crust. They're proud of this. And I can promise you, it ain't bad! So if you're on the fence, do your research and lets do. Of course you can add whatever toppings you want and they have personal size options too.
They also have other options including salads, grinders (sammies for us locals), wings and things. I don't recall an alcohol menu.
