We are a women-only book club that meets the second Saturday of every month to discuss a pre-selected book while enjoying our favorite caffeinated (or decaffeinated) beverage and the company of fellow readers.

This month join us for a discussion on The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden. I'm fairly sure this will be our first thriller, and boy howdy does it have some great twists and turns. This book was adapted to a movie that will be released December 19th - so great timing for a "which was better" (the book, right? it's always the book.....) :)

Description
Every day I clean the Winchesters’ beautiful house top to bottom. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor.

I try to ignore how Nina makes a mess just to watch me clean it up. How she tells strange lies about her own daughter. And how her husband Andrew seems more broken every day. But as I look into Andrew’s handsome brown eyes, so full of pain, it’s hard not to imagine what it would be like to live Nina’s life. The walk-in closet, the fancy car, the perfect husband.

I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out… and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late.

But I reassure myself: the Winchesters don’t know who I really am.

We loved Promised in Fire (Book 1) so much we decided to finish up the Of Dragons & Fae Series together! This month join us for a discussion on Forged In Frost (Book 2) and Caged in Shadow (Book 3) by Jasmine Walt. Dragons. Need I say more?

Also - spoilers...if you haven't read Book 1 maybe don't read the description for these yet. But do read book 1 and then join us in January!!

Forged In Frost (Book 2)

Adara and Einar thought all their problems would be solved when they defeated the corrupted King Aolis.

But the power vacuum they have created is begging to be filled, and the three houses of Ediria are at each other’s throats trying to claim it. Caged in Shadow (Book 3)

Adara and Einar are at a crossroads. With no allies left in the fae realm, they only have one option left to unlock Adara's powers--the dragons who fled Ediria nearly twenty years ago.

In order to find the dragons, Adara will have to travel to the heart of Mount Furian and access the portal they used to escape. And since Einar cannot cross the portal himself, she will have to travel to this dangerous new realm and convince the dragons to help her without her staunchest ally by her side.

The last thing Einar wants is to send Adara through the portal, not when they are so close to completing the mating bond. But time is of the essence as Nox's dark power grows every day, and sacrifices must be made. If Adara does not stop Nox soon, the Mother of Shadows will unleash a terrible evil upon Ediria that even the Radiants cannot withstand. And Adara and Einar will lose not only each other, but everything they hold dear...
