Explore the fundamentals of soldering in this beginner-friendly jewelry class. You’ll learn how to fuse and form metal, understand soldering tools and heat control, and work with various metal types. You’ll leave the class with your own handcrafted jewelry piece.

- How to fuse and solder metal pieces
- Jewelry forming techniques and metal properties
All tools and materials are provided. Supplies are included in the class fee.

Learn the essentials of 3D printing with Bambu P1P and X1 Carbon printers using PLA filament. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll gain hands-on experience slicing models with Bambu Studio, preparing the printer, and troubleshooting prints. You’ll leave with the skills to start creating your own 3D projects.
You’ll learn:- 3D printing basics and model printability
- How to prepare and calibrate the print bed
- How to load and unload PLA filament
- How to use Bambu Studio to slice models
- How to troubleshoot common print issues

Learn the basics of sublimation printing in this 2-hour beginner workshop. Design, print, and press custom items like bags and mugs. Register by 9AM the day before class or contact us for same-day availability.

Join Ruben for a hands-on introduction to sublimation printing, perfect for beginners and creatives ready to bring custom designs to life. Learn the history and science of sublimation, how it differs from other printing methods, and how to prepare images for optimal results.
You’ll explore techniques for ideation, image editing (including resizing and color correction in Photoshop), and step-by-step printing using a sublimation printer. Then, transfer your designs onto tote bags. You'll also receive a demonstration of how to sublimate coffee mugs and unique surfaces likes metal and stone.
By the end of the workshop, you'll walk away with a custom-printed tote and a full understanding of how to create professional-quality sublimation products for gifts, personal projects, or small business ventures.

MADE Youth Maker Camp – Summer 2025Ages 8–11 | Thursdays | 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Drop-In: $75/per session
Location: MADE Studio – 3519 Broadway, Sacramento, CAEach Thursday this summer, youth ages 8–11 will explore fundamental tools and creative technology through hands-on projects led by experienced instructors. From 3D printing to sewing to woodshop builds, each week offers something new.
All materials and snacks are included. No experience needed—just curiosity and creativity.
Series Line-UpJuly 3 - Design Studio: Posters, Stickers & Buttons
Create bold posters, press wearable buttons, and design custom stickers (stickers will be printed and ready for pickup the following week).July 10 – Woodshop Project I In this hands-on session, kids will build their first woodshop project using a combination of pre-cut wood pieces and guided instruction. They’ll learn how to safely handle both hand tools and beginner-friendly power tools (such as drills and sanders) in a supervised environment.
Students will focus on core skills, such as measuring, assembling, sanding, and painting, as they create a functional and decorative wood item. Along the way, they’ll gain confidence using fundamental tools and develop an understanding of basic shop safety, project planning, and creative finishing techniques.
July 17 – Intro to 3D Printing Kids will learn the basics of 3D design using beginner-friendly software and discover how digital files are transformed into real objects. Each participant will create a simple custom design and print it using our Bambu 3D printers. Everyone will take home their printed piece at the end of the day.
July 24 – LEDs & Light Projects In this entry-level electronics session, kids will discover how simple circuits work by building projects that light up. Using safe, age-appropriate materials like copper tape, LED lights, batteries, and conductive adhesives, they’ll create light-up cards, badges, or small objects that glow. Along the way, they’ll gain a basic understanding of circuitry, polarity, and how electricity moves—all in a fun, hands-on format that makes learning feel like play.
July 31 – Sewing & Soft Crafting Campers will learn the basics of hand-stitching in this fun and beginner-friendly textile session. They'll practice simple stitches, threading, and fabric handling while creating a soft fabric project, such as a mini pouch, plushie, or small pillow. This session encourages patience, focus, and creativity as kids bring their soft creations to life using needle and thread. All materials are provided, and no prior sewing experience is needed.
August 7 – Woodshop Project II In this follow-up woodshop session, campers will build a second small wood project that allows for more creative control and decorative finishing. After assembling the pre-cut pieces, students will explore additional finishing techniques such as staining, stenciling, distressing, or layered painting. They'll continue developing their tool handling and sanding skills while learning how to enhance a project’s look and feel with thoughtful design choices. This class encourages kids to take more ownership of their work and express their style through finishing details.
August 14 – Maker Mash-Up & Showcase To wrap up the summer, campers will enjoy a day of creative freedom with access to multiple maker stations featuring some of their favorite tools and techniques from the program. From sublimation and painting to 3D printing, art, and small crafts, kids can experiment, combine skills, and bring their ideas to life. It’s a relaxed, open-ended day filled with fun, expression, and creativity. We’ll conclude with a casual mini-showcase, where campers can share their creations with family and friends.
