[MID-AUTUMN WORKSHOP] STAR LANTERN MAKING
Hanoi Exploring, 33 Ngõ 234 Hoàng Quốc Việt, Nghĩa Đô, Hà Nội, Vietnam, Nghĩa Đô, VNTết Trung Thu, or the Mid-Autumn Festival, is one of Vietnam’s most beloved traditional celebrations. Every year, under the full moon of the eighth lunar month, the streets light up with colorful lanterns as children carry them around, enjoy mooncakes, and gather with family and friends under the moonlight.🌕
For generations, Trung Thu has also been a cherished part of childhood - filled with the lively sound of drums, colorful lanterns, and the simple joy of walking together beneath the moon. Among these familiar traditions, the star lantern (đèn ông sao) is one of the most recognizable symbols of the festival. Made from simple bamboo sticks and colorful paper, it has been part of the childhood memories of generations of Vietnamese children.✨
This Mid-Autumn season, Hanoi Exploring invites you to make your very own traditional star lantern while discovering the stories, customs, and cultural beauty behind this special Vietnamese celebration.
