About us
If you’ve ever been in a book club, you know how chaotic the whole thing can get. People don’t read. Or they read differently. Or you race through the last chapters just to make the meeting. Someone inevitably chooses that 700‑page deep dive into the economic history of a country you didn’t know existed.
Silent Book Clubs take all this pressure away. Just show up, say hi (or not!), order a drink (or not!), and settle in with whatever you actually want to read.
Most gatherings follow a simple rhythm: we meet, chat for a few minutes, take an optional group photo, then ease into about an hour of quiet reading, with optional socializing afterward. However, some events have their own flow or special activities, so be sure to read each event description to know what to expect. :)
Reading alone, together.

Birria and Books at Fort Ruger Park ("Triangle Park")
Fort Ruger Park, 3906 Kahala Avenue, Honolulu, HI, USHonolulu Silent Book Club is heading back to the park for another afternoon of zero-pressure reading and maximum deliciousness. No assigned texts, no required talking points, and absolutely no pop quizzes. Just a community of fellow book-lovers hanging out and enjoying some dedicated quiet time.
Fort Ruger Park ("Triangle Park") is bordered by Kahala Ave, Diamond Head Rd., and Paikau St. in the shadow of Diamond Head. There is free street parking on each of these streets.
There is no restroom, but there are public park restrooms at Kilauea Park on 22nd Ave. and Kapiolani Community College Farmers Market, each about 5 minutes away.
The Dos Jefes taco truck will be there, but you can also just bring your own snacks and drinks. Bring a towel, blanket, or chair. Bring sunscreen if you wish. And bring something to read!
Baron is our host!
We will gather under the shade trees. Look for Baron on a blue blanket in the area near the taco truck.
