What we’re about
HOPE YOGA is held at the home of the H.O.P.E. Garden, which stands for Helping Omaha People Eat.
Class is inside THE SANCTUARY of Faithful Shepherd Presbyterian Church. The garden is outside behind the building. The food from garden is donated to Hope for the Heartland. The garden is managed by volunteers of The Nebraska Extension Office's Master Gardener Program, and FSPC covers the water bill for that vegetable garden that feeds members of the Omaha Community.
My name is Jai. I'm the yoga teacher, one of the master gardeners, and an animal rights activist. This is a non-religious class. We don't debate or discuss personal beliefs DURING class, which is strictly a time for peace and well-being, but we CAN have friendly communication on a wide variety of topics—including religion—after class over coffee (agave nectar and oatmilk provided) and vegan donuts. We just ask to keep it kind as well as respectful of the space we are in.
ABOUT THE YOGA: It begins with 30 minutes of light movement practices and ends with a guided relaxation to the sound waves of crystal singing bowls. We complete class in a comfortable seated position with a few minutes of silent meditation.
DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED, NEVER EXPECTED. If it is ever on your heart to donate, you can:
• Help me with the donuts and other vegan offerings by using the Fundraiser in this here Meetup group, found by scrolling all the way to the bottom of this page.
• Talk to Pastor Nick about donating to the church to help with the water bill and their other charitable efforts.
• Ask to be given the information to donate to the Extension Master Gardener Program that organizes the volunteer work happening in the H.O.P.E. Garden!
You have plenty of options to choose from if your heart desires to give.
