Photography is more than capturing images—it is a powerful tool for storytelling, identity, and
community building. Through this workshop, participants will learn how to document their
surroundings, communicate personal experiences, and tell meaningful stories using
photography and visual narratives.
This workshop is designed to introduce participants to creative
expression while developing practical digital and artistic skills.
Participants will gain both technical knowledge and creative confidence through interactive
learning, collaborative activities, and real-world storytelling exercises.

A lot of you have joined our events over the past few months, and when we ask why you keep coming back, the answer is almost always the same: you want to meet people and feel more comfortable living in Germany. We love that — and we've been thinking about how to make both happen faster.

So we're reopening our language program: The German Conversation Table. It's a small-group course, once a week, built entirely around real conversation — the kind you actually need in Germany. Shopping, doctor's appointments, housing, banking, making friends and even workplace German for meetings and interviews.

No grammar drilling, no textbook dialogues. Just talking, in a relaxed room, with people who are learning right alongside you.

If you've been coming to our events to practice your German, build your social confidence and meet new people, this would really help you.

It is concentrated. Five weeks, one Friday a week, and you'll leave speaking with a lot more confidence than you walked in with.

Hello everyone!

We are starting our MiA Courses in September!

MiA is a free course for migrant women in Hamburg — learn the German system, navigate everyday life, discover your strengths and build new connections. In a welcoming, pressure-free space. At your own pace.

## By women, for women

MiA courses are designed exclusively for women and led by women. We especially welcome women with little prior experience of formal learning, and women returning to education after a long period focused on family life.

## Together, we will …

• Discover and put into words your own strengths
• Learn about women's rights in Germany
• Understand everyday life, politics, and society in Germany
• Get to know support services and advisory centers in Hamburg
• Go on excursions into the neighbourhood and local institutions
• Get creative — through collage-making, bracelet crafting, and more
• Build connections, friendships, and mutual support

## Eligibility

MiA is open to foreign women aged 16 or over who do not have a school or vocational qualification completed in Germany, from countries outside Western Europe, North America, and Australia.

And who belong to one of the following groups:
1. Women with a permanent residence status in Germany
2. Women seeking asylum (regardless of prospects of remaining)
3. Women with a training or employment toleration status (§ 60c para. 1 or § 60d para. 1 AufenthG)
