We are heading to Murray Hill! @AuntieChins loves Mahjong! Who else? Come celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year with Mahjong festivities. We will once again be throwing a Fundraiser for @DoForOneNYC, a non-profit which is near and dear to my heart. It emphasizes not DEVALUING people based on mental/physical disabilities. Feel free to Get Involved by attending the next DFO Info Session 3/16!
We’re ringing in the Year of the Horse the HOPE way…with tiles, community, and culture. There will be Asian snacks & drinks throughout the day or feel free to bring your own to share. All proceeds will go towards Do For One
Join us at The Hub for a special Mahjong Night celebrating our Lunar New Year collaboration. Whether you’re a seasoned player or brand new to the game, everyone is welcome. We’ll have a dedicated teaching table for anyone who wants to learn, plus open play tables for experienced players ready to run it! There will be no point minimums and style of play will be Hong Kong. Most wins throughout the session will arrive at the Final Table to Crown 1 Mahjong Champion per Session. Champions may even win a Prize :)

Will Mahjong be taught? I have never played before. Yes
Can I play other games like Uno or Rummikub or Big2 instead? Yes, they will be available for play.

The meal will feature collaborative dishes from Rea and Filipino Chef Woldy Reyes (who made an Amazing Lechon @ NYCWFF). We are heading to JBF Platform! An Evening Celebrating Black Culinary Heritage with Two James Beard Award–Recognized Chefs
Join James Beard Award–recognized Chefs Omar Tate and Cybille St.Aude-Tate, the husband-and-wife team behind Philadelphia’s Honeysuckle, for an evening rooted in Black culinary heritage, storytelling, and the power of food as a means for cultural preservation. Save on the trip to/from Philly! 🚊✈️Chef Tate—an artist, writer, poet, and chef featured as Esquire’s Chef of the Year, on TIME’s 100 Next list, and on Netflix’s High on the Hog—and chef St.Aude-Tate—honored as a Rising Star by The Philadelphia Business Journal and Hospitality Star of the Year by The Philadelphia Citizen—unite their distinct culinary perspectives in the kitchen.
Drawing from Tate’s Southern and Philadelphia roots and St.Aude-Tate’s Haitian heritage, the menu will highlight fermentation, ancestral techniques, and ingredients sourced from Black farmers, regional producers, and the team’s own farm in Pipersville, Pennsylvania. Zimmern brings the recipes of The Blue Food Cookbook to the table with a menu centered on sustainability, seasonality, and a broad range of species—from shellfish to finfish to sea vegetables—prepared with clarity and intention.
