Your Legislative Update
·OnlineOnlineSilence Emboldens the Activists Who Want to Take Your Property
The legislative climate is shifting against housing providers. Both state and local governments are increasing investment risks. You cannot afford to remain silent. Being informed is your most powerful tool for the defense of your rights and your property.
Growing Threats to Your Rights
Opposition to housing providers continues to grow. We see this clearly in local mandates. For example, the proposed Protecting Renters Ordinance is intended to amend the Chicago Residential Landlord-Tenant Ordinance. Changes such as "endless leases" and Just Cause Evictions are designed to wrest control of your real estate from you and add complexity to your daily operations.
The Regulatory Landscape
The risks to rental housing are spreading. New bills in Springfield often mirror these local ordinances. Without active oversight, your property rights may be the next target. Staying silent only invites further regulation.
