What we’re about
Hey Hey Hey,
Are you a young educated but cool fun sociable adventure‑spirited working professional who loves meeting genuine like‑minded awesome people? Our free attendee‑vetted social adventures brings together fun-loving socialisers who need authentic connections with people just like themselves who share similar interests, hobbies and passions as well life values. An elusive London haven leading to real connections where enriching enjoyable conversations flow naturally, and fun activities together leave lingering memories
But How Do We Achieve This? Many social groups talk the talk but we go beyond superficiality to actually walk the walk. To ensure maximum engagement and fun for event attendees - we optimise participation selection for each event to increase chances of meeting lile minded people on similar wavelenghs via attendee pre-screening.
------SCREENING FOR MUTUAL INTERESTS & LIKE MINDED PEOPLE-------
We've all been there - enduring time wasting boredom speaking to 40 randoms at an event just to meet one or two people whose company we actually enjoy and have synergy with. After attending and running social events for years, we noticed people who go to a music related event seldom have a passion for music. People who go to a club don’t actually dance (in many cases can't!) . People say they want fun, interesting conversations often don’t bring much fun, intrigument or homour to the table. So we ask a screening question to gauge genuine interest in the event theme, leading to more engaging and fun experiences for participants. It makes it harder to fake it and easier for real, curious, sociable people with authentic love of the event theme to find each other.
We realise RSVPs will be lower but that's exactly what we want to maximise quality over quantity of turn out - all events have RSVP limits to foster excellent conversation dynamics and enjoyable stimulating social mixing/activities with the suitable people. So to avoid us throwing the baby out with the bathwater - make sure you answer the screening question - because in case of waiting lists - indifference - will keep you there!! Also see our tips below if you are attending an event for the first time.
=== Target Audience ===
Our typical attendees are sociable, young at heart, unmarried & childless 22 - 45 with fun hobbies and interests who share a balance of cultural, social, intellectual and creative prowess. If you were too cool for school you'll fit right into most of our events.
As well as being friendly natural conversationalists and the life and soul of any party - our hosts are witty so if you dislike homour our events are not for you! Without meaning to sound elitist - if you're a very serious person, extremely introverted - please think carefully about whether you'll fit in - there are other groups that might be more suited to your personality type
Best of all - our events are FREE as thankfully most things to do in London are 100% free. Unless we incur a direct fee from the venue (above and beyond group running fees) - we never charge for any events as we firmly believe access to life enriching hobbies, activities and fun should accessible to everyone irrespective of ability to pay

----Tips for First Timers----
Whether it's your first day at school, university, work or a social event - it's natural to be a little apprehensive walking into room of strangers. Based on our experirence - here's a few tips to ease the nerves and ensure you get the most enjoyment out of an event
- Let the Host Help You: When you arrive, reach for the host. We're here to take the pressure off and do the hard work by introducing you to like minded attendees. To help create natural synergies across like-minded people - feel free to talk about the aspect of the event theme you are passionate about. Even a little bit of info helps to ensure maximum enjoyment and more fulfilling connections
- Be Yourself: Authenticity is a the heart of our events. Don’t worry about being impressive - just be real. Talk about your hobbies, passions, and what you like to do for fun. Show off your personality - things will naturally light up when you meet your tribe
- Be Picky, Have Standards & Keep Moving: Give every conversation a chance but don’t get stuck in a boring one or with the same people. The goal is to mingle, explore and enjoy the event. That one person you didn't speak to could turn out to be one of your next best friends!
Let's keep it real, fun and enjoyable for everyone that attends

❄️ Comet & Star of Bethlehem Search With Telescopes + Pub Drinks ☾prov date☽🔭🌟
Camden High Street, London, NW1, Camden High Street, London, GB🌌Ever look up like I do and marvel with insatiable curiosity at both the beauty and wonder of the universe? That wild sobering thought that somewhere in the chaos of creation - the emergence of life - the universe became conscious enough to look back and ask the big questions; How it all started, our evolution and place in it, and where else in the cosmos other complex life might exist (almost every star you see at night has planets orbiting with up to 20 billion habitable exoplanets easily in our galaxy alone!)? 🪐🌟🌟🌟
🌍Then RSVP to view the potential life harbouring moons of Jupiter, the 3I Atlas interstella Comet ☄️(estimated to be 8+ billion years old), the famous Orion Nebula where stars like our sun were born, the majestic rings of Saturn, the international space station, the Tau Ceti star system with 2 Earth like planets orbiting in the habitable zone, remnants of supernova witnessed by our early ancestors plus a range of other fascinating celestial wonderments (comets, star systems, galaxies) over drinks and engaging chats and banter this Dec fully hosted by me - a passionate amateur astronomer and former global Journalist covering big picture stories including cutting edge science related ones.
🚀In between observing - we'll have drinks and engaging chats on all astronomy related topics for those inclined (Astrobiology, SETI/Femi Paradox, cosmology, space exploration, exoplanetology, astrophysics, paleontology etc) as well as non space chatter and banter too. No doubt I'll hear the usual jokes we've all heard hundreds of times before! If those don't make you laugh, then my impersonation of Los Angeles ET will! 👽
====Joining Astronomers Group & Telescopes =====
I'm able to take a limited number of people (please only RSVP if you can make it) to join my friendly informal relaxed London amateur astronomers' club that have been for over a decade with their regulars made up of up to about 150 people. As there will be people attending from this private Astronomers group as well as others from one of my other groups - the total attendees will be far higher than rsvps here and the public liability insurance only covers a max number of people - hence I need to impose strict limits on attendance.
Over the years we have enjoyed numerous social evenings of stargazing and thought provoking chatter with people of all ages and varying levels of astronomy knowledge - so complete beginners that are genuinely curious about the universe are very welcome. If you are just looking to meet generic randoms then there are others groups that will better cater for that. The world renowed BBC Television Sky at Night also attended our events pre covid and interviewed some of us for it's show that aired on BBC1 in Feb 2019. BBC Radio London (94.9 FM / digital) were there Aug 2023 to cover our meteor shower event broadcasting live to millions of Londoners for 3 hours
You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie
=== Food & Drinks With Seating From Warm Indoor Cafe===
Alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, cider only), hot drinks and food/snacks will be available to purchase from an indoor cafe at the observation point which Regent's park keep open exclusively for the astronomers group so please don't bring your own drinks
====ITINERARY=====
We will meet outside Camden Station. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the local park 15 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related.
After Drinks: Unless I have a very important 9AM Thursday deadline for a client presentation or something that I'm still gonna be writing 2 mins before start - most of us usually head our way back to Camden for another drink. If so - I will annouce the pub when we leave the park
