Since Keiko, our previous host of the Kamakura Nihongo Club, moved to Brunei this summer, we'll be continuing our regular event with our new hosts, Ken and Akie, who have also been regular members of the club.

They kindly offered to take over Keiko's role and help keep our lovely community going.

Thank you so much, Ken-san and Akie-san, for stepping up and supporting the community. I hope this new chapter of the Nihongo Club will help our community thrive even more and continue to be a comfortable and welcoming place for everyone.

Hi, I’m Ken from Yokosuka.

From this month, Akie and I will be taking over the Kamakura Nihongo Club from Keiko.

Our goal is to make your time in Japan more enjoyable—whether through learning Japanese, discovering local culture, or simply having a friendly place to connect with others. Even if it’s just a small contribution, we’re happy to help.
Let’s create a warm and fun meetup together.

— General Introduction (August 2026) —

Welcome to our regular event series, Kamakura Nihongo Club!

It's a casual and practical conversation event held almost every month for Japanese learners who want:

– To keep a conversation going in Japanese.

– To develop more natural and fluent Japanese pronunciation.

– To put their Japanese vocabulary and idioms into practice in real conversations.

– To make new friends and share tips about life in Japan.

We also welcome native Japanese speakers who'd like to join our international community. You can maintain or even polish your English skills while helping Japanese learners with the language and their understanding of Japanese culture and history.

Japanese and English speakers of all levels are welcome.

We try to keep our conversations mainly in Japanese. However, English is always there as a useful tool to help with explanations and understanding of the Japanese language and culture, so please don't feel any pressure about your language skills.

I dream of creating an international community where both newcomers and locals feel comfortable being together. We all enjoy learning about different cultures and getting to know one another.

Although I currently live in Kyoto, I'm looking forward to seeing you all in person again sometime in Kamakura!

この夏、これまで鎌倉日本語クラブのホストを務めてくださっていたケイコさんが、新天地のブルネイへ引っ越されました。

そして今回から、これまで日本語クラブのレギュラーメンバーとして参加してくださっていたケンさんとアキエさんが、新しいホストとしてイベントを引き継いでくださることになりました。

— 鎌倉日本語クラブについて（2026年8月）—

鎌倉日本語クラブへようこそ！

このイベントは、ほぼ月に一度開催している、カジュアルで実践的な日本語会話のイベントです。

– 日本語でもっと会話を続けられるようになりたい方

– より自然で流暢な日本語の発音を身につけたい方

– 覚えた日本語の単語や表現を、実際の会話で使ってみたい方

– 日本での暮らしについて情報交換できる新しい友達を作りたい方

こんな方におすすめです。

また、国際的なコミュニティに参加したい日本語ネイティブの方にも楽しい機会です。日本語を学んでいるメンバーの言葉や日本の文化・歴史への理解をサポートしながら、ご自身の英語力を維持したり、さらに磨いたりする機会にもなると思います。

日本語・英語ともに、どのレベルの方でも歓迎です。

イベントでは、できるだけ日本語で会話することを心がけています。ただし、日本語や日本文化についての説明や理解を補うために、英語もいつでも使える共通のツールです。色々なレベルの方がいるので、プレッシャーを感じる必要はまったくありません。

僕が目指しているのは、新しく来た人も地元の人も、自然に一緒に過ごせる国際的なコミュニティです。みんなでさまざまな文化について学びながら、お互いを知っていけたらと思っています。

現在、僕は京都に住んでいますが、またいつか鎌倉でみなさんに直接お会いできるのを楽しみにしています！
